Monsta's Horological Wish List

There is literally Xiaomi fitness trackers that do 90% of a Fitbit Alta for $30 delivered on AliExpress.

Anyway, been looking for watch bands for the Cocktail Time.... what do you all think of this?

'Blue Jeans' Stingray leather, polished. Problem is getting it from the maker in Thailand for a reasonable price (AU cops a postal surcharge while most EU countries, and few Asian countries plus the US get 'free' shipping).

Not my taste if you're asking for opinions. The Cocktail is too classy a watch for uber bling wrist candy.

@Monsta_AU no image for me I am afraid

Monsta edit: definitely there. Check your AdBlock settings, or maybe quote the post, and copy/paste the URL into a new tab.

I feel that I would whack it on a door immediately and be real sad for a long time.

@Monsta_AU. And now it’s there, I am going to chalk it up to some voodoo.

@Drubbing, I could see it as a dressed down look with blue jeans. It’s almost looks like a completely different watch tbh.

Well, I have a watch on pre-order and I just pulled the trigger on another (it was a steal - BNIB and $200 below eBay rate so how could I not??), so I will be thinning the herd shortly.

Both of the Karlskronas will be up and you will be able to make them yours. I really haven't bonded with them and so it is time to move them on. Offered here at P&F first of course.

Get your cash together, they have only been worn a handful of times between the two of them and in 99% condition, and you get extra straps (all are quick release). I am off to NZ this weekend so won't be listing them properly until next weekend.

FTFY!

Thanks, nice looking watches!

The Baltic does look the nicer of the two (not a big fan of white watches), however on the review I read it said the Nordic has a few improvements over the original Baltic.
Any idea what those improvements are @Monsta_AU ?

Is it strange that I am a bit disappointed that with the name Karlskrona the watches are not from the Nordic region at all, but Connecticut.

AFAIK, it is only very minor stuff around things like the dial (sunburst versus flat) and I think the lume changed slightly. The lume is not a strong point - it works but will never come close to Seiko Lumibrite.

They have Swedish Heritage, and come from that area but live in the US.

I must be the only person who thinks G shocks rock.
Gshocks are fine and I think everyone should try one at least however they just are getting more and more like fashion watches-nothing wrong with that of cause if that’s your jam.

Race you!

You sure you want to? Mine is EMS... and even though it is at the AusPost Black Hole it seems to have escaped it as it has been 'processed through'....

Agreed, although I see them now as going well past their original 'purposed' design, and they are now more of a caricature of what they once were, and $800+ for an oversized ABS quartz... yeah nah. For around half that money you can get a Hamilton Khaki Field Auto or a Glycine Combat 6.

But only one 'processed through' entry I can see. Doesn't there need to be at least 2 -3 before it escapes

I’m in the same boat- stuff like the dw5600 I love- super functional and just fantastic for beating on but then you get your Mr G and the like and I have no idea who these are for..
Additionally there’s an element of the Gshock fan club that seem to think that there’s a Gshock for all occasions, for example
“Who cares that the SARB017 Alpinist is discontinued, you can get compasses on your G shock”

Only folks worse are the Vostok amphibion people.

Looks like I'm losing this race as mine is in South Australia, and australia Post estimate it will take another 8 days to get here!

Well mine was Express Post @eggbert and from ADL to CBR was meant to be next business day - so I was actually fairly confident that I would beat old @Monsta_AU...

... but it seems that it is not to be :(

Nothing in the mailbox this morning and no update on the tracking

Have we found another rabbit hole to explore....
Only if you have a spare 50 gran or so.

Yeah, I’ve looked. Order of magnitude beyond the razor collector. I could cash in my whole set of razors for one or at best two high end pieces

Out of my league, this purchase is for me an heirloom (maybe why I did it the wrong away @Drubbing) as part of my hand me downs to me son in due course. I can’t see myself spending as much again - and this was an inexpensive purchase relatively
