DOTD! What are y'all drinking on today.

Becoming quite the connoisseur mate!
Because I have bought my first oldish whisky?

It has turned pretty much into the only alcohol I drink these days, most beers are too carby for me, and the ones that aren't are fairly tasteless. Rum brandy and wine are too sweet, so I'm pretty much left with whisky or g&t.
In fact, I haven't had a G&T for a while, so I think that might be tonight's taste, Gin, tonic and peach bitters.

Trying to decide from today's new deliveries:

You know what to do @eggbert. A double right to left, then a double left to right. If you then know your left from your right -get rid of hem as they are obviously fakes.

Pure malt, that's the old name for a blend of different single malts isn't it?

Yep. They use to have age statements (15 - I think, and 21). I got a 21 back in 2013 for 60 bucks duty free at Narita airport along with a Yochi 15 from the same brewery for 50 bucks. The Yochi 15 was amazing, I still got a few glasses left for a special occasion that will never come. It's a shame the Japanese stuff exploded.

The prices of anything from Nikka or Suntory’s distilleries with an age statement are ridiculous compared to a few years ago.

@KingCobra I think it was after a few of them won a few awards, then all the age statement ones ran out. The distilleries didn't have the stock to keep up. I'm pretty sure that's why Nikka dropped the age statements

Double Dalwhinne 15. They even found me a decent glass - so it tastes better!

Birra Moretti
Like the majority of Italian things, Bellissimo
Heineken?

/edit you seem to get some interesting beverages - are you just shopping at the usual supermarkets / off-licences, or specialty places?
