My second shave.

Last time I did my head and my neck but this time I did my face too.

Apoligies for my horrific appearance.

I think I'm trying to shave to fast. I did 2 passes of my face in about 5 minutes...maybe 7 minutes or something.

Then I did my head and then went against the grain on my neck.

Got a few tiny blood spots on my lip and chin but I have a mole in each place to contend with and I have a mole on the back of my head.

These pics are after a quick shower after a shave and before balm.

When you wipe down and re-lather, are you supposed to put more beard oil on then?

Also how pedantic do you need to be with scubbing the beard up?

I did a quick finger scrub in the hot shower before my shave, i rubbed in beard oil before shaving but only remembered to use a hot towel on my head...not my face. Also if you have a hot shower do you still have/need to use a hot towel, i scrubbed in the shave cream as good as I imagine you could possibly need given my short <1cm facial hair when shaving.

Should I be doing more or just doing it much better and much slower?

With he razer I kind of press until it basically does a clean shave. I take it thats my number one problem.

Thanks for any help and here are my pics.

My second shave.

So still learning - go easy on yourself!

Hmmm, I don't think time will be a problem but this does suggest to me you might be dragging the razor around with too much pressure ...

Yep, I'd say so!

Slow down, relax and focus on what you are doing. Take your time, stretch the skin where you can and keep it taunt and glide the razor OVER your skin rather than drag it along. That is how I now describe the 'no pressure' mantra.

I think I put shave cream too far down my neck because it was impossible to pull the skin, though I did try. Lesson for next time.

Thanks for the advice.
