What do you have in the post right now?

Apricus: a solar, luminous and sensual fragrance opens with an intoxicating light halo. Its sparkling citrusy, slightly floral and fruity combination creates a sunshine cocktail, lifting both your energy and mood.
This inspired all-time classic fragrance was noted to be a personal favourite of Steve McQueen and John Lennon.
It suits both formal and informal functions, so whether you’re hard at work or enjoying a sunny carefree day by the poolside, Apricus is certain to make you shine.

What marketing drivel.
What is a "solar" fragrance? Does it smell like burning hydrogen?
What does a light halo smell like?
A sunshine cocktail? Please.

Just give me the top/middle/base notes and a description of what it actually smells like - does it smell like a fruit salad, or cut grass, or damp forest, wine cellar, tobacco den? None of this crap that means absolutely nothing.
Also, that last line "Apricus is certain to make you shine" is nothing but a tagline from a '90s shampoo advert.

Beats me, I have no idea ask John Lennon, because, he was a crazy hippie and Steve McQueen loves fast cars.

Ordered a Muhle R41 and colonel conk 4 pack of soaps and a 10 pack of feather blades.

I thought he r41 would cut down shave time by doing the job in a pass less tham my r89. The r89 gives me a perfectly smooth shave with no irritation but some times I wish it would take fewer passes.

Then after ordering the r41 tonight I had a really great shave with my r89 and realised I had lost my mind thinking there was ever a need for a new razer...oh well, time to see if a smooth shave is possible as it is with my current razer; with the aggressive razer from hell in the mail.

They had a 10% off store sale...sure enough they tricked me into buying the other stuff I didn't need either...all for the sake of a few $'s savings...we consumers really are a gullible bunch.

200 feather blades from Amazon Prime (US) including delivery for $64.

Thought that was rather reasonable value. Going halfsies with a mate (or two). I find my best shaves with a Feather are the 2nd to 4th shave so they last a while.

Have another two Face Fat soaps making their way to me.

A while back I bought the Omega 48 Professional boar brush but have found it a tad large for my tastes. So not giving up on the boar brush journey just yet, I decided to give this little beauty a run which sounds to be a better option for face lathering.

I was on the phone last night to @bald as talking about life and all things shaving when bald as mentions Schick Injectors. I'm like ' I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER BLADE SYSTEM'. But apparently I do and within 5 mins had bought this Schick Injector Type G. Sigh..........¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Of course now I'm gonna need a supply of blades.........

Lovely score and very envious at the mint condition. Injector blades are cheap too and last a long time. You can even use your stones to put the edge back on it 😁

I hope you like it. It's an absolutely gorgeous brush to use once it's broken in (which doesn't take too long for the 830).

Thanks @nav1
While researching this brush, I came across information on Semogue knots, the different bristle types used and the differences between them. All very useful and interesting. I could not find similar information for other boar brush vendors like Omega though. If anyone knows of such information for the Omegas etc. please do share :)

From my experience of using about a dozen omega brushes, my preference is for their banded boar knots which are treated boar hair. They are softer at the tips compared to their un-banded knots.

The un-banded also break in softly so it's not like they'll be harsh but be prepared for longer break in time and the tips won't be quite as soft as the banded/treated knots.

My favorite is the 24mm/55mm configuration.

I would also suggest you try a couple of zenith boars, which are right in between semogue and omega in terms of splay/backbone. Their knots are also a little more densely packed.

I can't say I like the huge omega pro brush, just to unwieldy. I also would not recommend any omega under 55mm loft.I recently got one of their 24mm/48mm boars and it doesn't splay at all!! I mean, it's just unusable!!

Here is the explanation of the grades I found...

First, the meaning of "percentage tops". This measures the amount in percentage of bristles that have the full length. The bigger the percentage, the more homogeneous and compact the knot feels because most of the tips are at the same level.

The Premium grade appears in the iconic 1305. Following the success of the 1305, some asked me if it was possible to have the same knot, but in a acrylic handle, so the 830 was born. This grade usually has a dyed band, but it appears undyed in the 2000 mixed with other grade hair.

The Best is also a hair that gets great remarks. It appears on the 1460, 1470, and 1250 brushes. It's undyed. Owners of these brushes speak highly of these knots, having great amount of lather easily, usually in bowl, but it's just as efficient directly used in the face.

The Extra grade is scratchier than other grades, but over the time will soften a bit. It appears in the 1520, 1438 and 620 brushes. It's also used in the 1800 mixed with Premium 90. This boar grade provides good backbone and having an extra scratchiness is often chosen by the face lathering fans. This is usually dyed.

The Super grade is used in the 2000 knot mixed with the Premium.

The Special grade appeared first in the 2009 LE. Later, some more of this boar grade was stocked and eventually turned to a new regular production brush: the Semogue Owners Club. It's an undyed bristle with a very high quality. Equally soft as the Premium and good backbone provides good lathering ability in both bowl and face lathering.

It's hard to decide what's the very best grade. Both the Premium and Special grades have many fans.
Here is the table of grades...
