Of course I explained to Mrs Pbgoose it's all @bald as 's fault and that he had been nominated for the enablers award which proves it.:ROFLMAO: Thanks @Mark1966 , that enablers award nomination for 'bald as' is gold, nearly as good as a note from my Mum. Mrs Pbgoose was last seen proposing some threatening post on P&C to all 'enablers' (note to self: ensure all devices are logged out of P&C).

Don't forget you can always point to the pictures of my collection to make it clear you are WAY better! Its a free service ;)

I was so close to buying the Dutch Resistance. Looking forward to hear what you think about it.
I had been procrastinating about this one for a while. There are quite a few Squadron soaps in the collection now, so the performance of the base was a given. This one however once lathered, was beyond what I had achieved in the past. It looked and felt like the descriptions you see in marketing slogans. Rich, thick, glossy and oh so slick. Thirsty should also be added, this soap took a lot of water, a lot more than I would normally use with a Squadron soap.
Staying power with this one was very good. The shave was interrupted for about 10 to 15 minutes after the second pass. The lather showed no signs of drying out or wilting upon my return. It even took a little more hot water I added to get the temp back up without any issue.

I wont comment on the post shave feel until I have used it again. I had blade issues during the shave that would have definitely scewed the result. Tossed the blade after the first pass but the damage was done.

The scent, Squadrons description doesn't lie, black liquorice, strong black liquorice. Not the super sweet lolly bag scent more of a, for want of a better description, Dutch salted liquorice with a slight earthy back end. The scent will bloom and linger during and post shave. Even after rinsing off and putting the soap away I could still smell hints of it in the air.

This is another one I think will go into regular rotation.

What better day than the coldest day of the year to date??!!??

Same head as the Muhle Rocca...

At least with the Rocca the handle is solid and doesn't fall appart :D

I am a big fan of the Astra Superior Platinum Double Edge blades and decided to give the Astra Superior Stainless a go. Wow, these blades exceeded my expectations and was surprised how smooth they felt. So I purchased 100 and a blade bank. :)

That's a wrap. Head over here now.
