AusFarce or AusFantastic?

In other AusPost news, let's have an update on three Express Post items sent yesterday following the auction shall we ...

Brush sent from @Tony Forsyth (Daisy Hill QLD) to me (Manuka ACT) Express Post - should be delivered today, no tracking update since last night in Brisbane EDIT: it did arrive at 3:21 PM, see here.

Brush sent from me (Manuka ACT) to @todras (Sydney NSW) Express Post - should be delivered today, tracking indicates awaiting collection - Yippee, it works!

TEXAUS Set and Bowl sent from me (Manuka ACT) to @Holiday (Darwin NT) Express Post - should be delivered 3-4 days, tracking indicates received yesterday and nothing since.

That seems to be a 33% success rate AusFarce - and I don't get to use my new brush tomorrow morning before I leave for a trip :(

[Note: of course the brush to me could be delivered later in the day ...]

Well I have to apologise to AusPost -

Brush sent from @Tony Forsyth (Daisy Hill QLD) to me (Manuka ACT) Express Post - should be delivered yesterday, was actually delivered late yesterday

Brush sent from me (Manuka ACT) to @todras (Sydney NSW) Express Post - should be delivered yesterday, and was

Nothing is so slow as shaving gear in the post ...

Let's think about this ...

From Dianella, a Perth suburb, to the Perth Parcel Facility, or the airport parcel centre, both about the same distance away and a 15 minute drive according to Google.

This took - 97 hours!

Meanwhile a package from the US posted just two days earlier arrived yesterday ...

With Google maps giving me a distance of 3,509 kms involved in this parcel and some 264 hours having elapsed that means it is moving at an average speed of 13.29 kms per hour.

This is about the average speed of a house mouse - or a horse drawn carriage!

I’ve had a parcel from the states sent on 27th Dec. it landed in Sydney about a week later before staying for another week and being returned to sender. The seller said it was likely used as football practice.
it was reposted over a week ago but still seems to be enjoying the Miami weather. I might be retiring to Florida before it arrives here!!!

Olight Australia express posted some last-minute gifts from Sydney to Adelaide and had the item at the post office the same day. AusPost must have been AusPissed because they managed to send it up to the NT, despite being correctly addressed to Osborne SA 5017 and attempted delivery in Winnellie NT before they got a confused and annoyed phone call and redirected to where it was addressed.

I swear that there are more muppets at AusPost than there is on Sesame Street

'Customer Enquiry Lodged' - funny how that makes a difference so often ...

It's ok you would still have had a week before they attempted delivery in Darwin

Suspicions confirmed I think.

The original SMS was sent AFTER the driver had the parcel! It was ALWAYS going to be too late to reply!

In fact the parcel was delivered before they told me it was too late to reply ...

I recently made 2 purchases. One from Melbourne and one from Sydney. They both took THREE weeks to get to me. They had shipped immediately but were stuck in limbo somewhere.

"Oh well it must be the pandemic" I thought.

A week later I bought another item from the same Melbourne store. It arrived THE NEXT DAY.

Don't get me started. :banghead:

Why not? You can tell us what it is like from the OTHER side :)

I know right?

A card sent to Bundaberg a week AFTER one sent to Sydney arrives a week and a half earlier. Go figure!

Yup.

I bought a few things from Beard&Blade and the Squadron Soaps which is about a 45-50 minute drive from me. You can guess where this is going... The stuff from Beard&Blade rocked up in 2-days and the stuff from Squadron took about a week with a weekend thrown in for good measure as well - they were both shipped 'express' as well :banghead::banghead::banghead:.

@Mark1966 the delivery driver was probably still being trained. This is from the auspost website:
