They are a good bag and I doubt you would regret it.

I will be selling a Timbuk 2 messenger bag 13l.
I am off to Dentist now but upon my return I will list this bag.
Condition is as new.
Please pm for photos as I lack technology to post photos from my phone.
$ 55 plus postage

I've been looking jealously at some of the new Tom Bihn bags, but I just can't justify nearly $500 on a bag to carry my lunch to work.

I have, however, bought myself a Greenroom136 Metromonger sling bag and have added one of their organising pouches. Works really well and as it's only 10-12L I can't carry too much.
Easily carries work laptop, charger etc as well as what I need on a daily carry.

Looking back over this thread, my bag game has changed a little.
I now have one of these on the way.
Not a cheap bag but not crazy expensive for full grain veg tanned leather. This is a Cravar FC13

This one very much looks like a Messenger photography bag. It's gorgeous.

That's beautiful work, and will obviously last several lifetimes. I don't call that price too expensive, you get what you pay for. Now that I am effectively more or less retired (except for work that doesn't really count as work) I no longer need anything so advanced. For just piling "stuff" into, I have a humble Crumpler messenger bag. But for evenings or somewhat more "dressy" occasions when all I need to carry is too many pairs of glasses, phone and the smallest card sleeve I could find for those pesky cards that still don't have digital versions (or backups for the ones that do), I still love my Hugo Boss manbag I bought about 20(?) years ago:

I run a Timbuk2 Authority Deluxe as my daily and travel bag for laptop etc. Got it when the still had a presence here directly which they have now shut down. Works very well, and I can fit enough in it for travel like a change of clothes for that quick shower at the airport lounge. It's not perfect but I am very happy with it.

My other half got me an Aer City Sling for my birthday this year, was very good in London, Eire & Scotland earlier this year. Elite quality, and I will probably go for their bags if/when I replace the Timbuk2.

I previously used a Crumpler but the lack of structure on the back padding did not do good things for my back. Still well made and quality, just did not suit me.

For those in Aus, check out Greenroom 137 from Malaysia. Can do full customization at a good price and reasonable shipping. I have seen their stuff in the flesh and it's also very good.

Most of the good brands can be sourced via RushFaster locally, so Aer, Heimplanet, Peak Designs etc.

I've got 2 of their bags. Use the slingshifter for light EDC duties, and the metromonger for days when I'm biking it to work and need a change of clothing, or when I need to carry the work laptop.
They are almost, but not quite perfect for my daily needs.
I buy them when I'm playing a trip to SEA otherwise postage costs can be expensive unless you meet the requirements for free postage (600RM I think)

I have been a backpack man for a few years now, and a couple of months ago I fell in love with this beauty, I bought it in the medium size:

Cabaia backpack

It's great that it comes with two different front pouches, one in the same finish as the backpack, and the other one in a completely different one. If tou want to get creative you can get as many pouches as you may want.

I use my second one as a necessaire, which is something I've been needing for a while. When traveling I like to carry just a stick soap, a straight razor, small alume stick (as deodorant), brush, toothbrush, and that's about it. This pouch is perfect.

I don't bother carrying a strop. I strop the razor before leaving, if I need to shave more than once, I strop on my hand and that's it.

As I have been carrying this daily for a month I thought I’d share an update.
Basically I love it,
I have just given it a coat of mink oil and it really is breaking in great
