Rolex have not cut production for 2020, nor have they increased production. China's expansion and wealth has not slowed down, so don't expect prices to drop.

not too bothered, my plan is to wait a few years and hope my name comes up at Kennedy’s. A Batman is end game for me, and I am happy to wait. If it came up, all well and good. If not, I will just keep on waiting.

not going to feed the hype, happy to pay the extra dollars directly to Rolex. Not to any grey dealers.
 
Ahh... God knows how the EOI works at Kennedy's. I wouldn't be surprised that their VIP customers who spend millions are those who supply the grey market. I'm on the list but they're very cagey as to 'how long and when'.

In case your aren’t a nerd like me, it’s a reissue of the watch saguenay weaver wore in “Aliens” though in a colour way I prefer.

Yes, that is a nice watch. That blue is a wonderful, it changes with the light. Personally I prefer the datejust 41. I really like the slimmer case, 80 hour power reserve and oyster bracelet over the jubilee. The oyster braclet just breaths modern Rolex. There is nothing wrong with the 36mm if you prefer the mid size and jubilee bracelet. It's personal preference.

If opportunity presented itself and the price was right, I wouldn't hesitate on a blue face DJ 36.

If its gift to yourself with no intention of selling, then purchase away, as is a great looking watch.

Well, I bought it last year :)

and to be honest, the Roman indices are attractive, I bet I can sell it for what I bought it for if I need to.
 
And I went for the 36mm DJ Blue pictured ... because the opportunity presented itself (there is a long waitlist for the blue DJ41) and because I already have an Aqua Terra which wears similarly to the larger size watch.

I had AMEX concierge ring around ... and but in the end ... "phoned a friend" at the AD who kept a lookout.

Wasn't ever going to land a GMT but a DJ36 isn't an allocated model so it happened to arrive in their next delivery! I was very grateful.

Me too. Love the interesting history and as a kid of the 80s (only just but still) and a bit of a car nerd the Giugiaro link is pretty unique.

plus these where limited to 2000 units world wide but they are just a bit of fun.
