Hi

Cartridge shaver for 15 years. Started out with 2 blade Bics, Gillette and then onto Schick, which tend to be more expensive, but imo, give a better shave than the other supermarket brands.

Wetshaving in the traditional sense since July this year. Came about after I purchased an 8 pack of Schick Hydro 5 cartridges for full retail, only to see them for 50% off the next day. So mad, was googling "cheap knock-off Schick hydros" ended up on the wicked_edge sub-reddit and the rest is down that dreaded rabbit hole.

Started with a Jack the Barber DE safety razor from woollies, with shave cream and brush. Now shave with a Rockwell 6S, Yaqi 26mm Timberwolf and a variety of soap from B&M, DG, NO, A&E, Talbot and Stirling. Finish off with a post shave balm (usually Nivea).

Found out about this forum from the APR AMA on r/wetshaving (I'm waiting for the restock on B&B too).

Welcome @Bicep123. Similar story to what led me into wet shaving. Basically was trying to minimise my shaving expenditure using Gillette Fusion cartridges. Tried buying in bulk to reduce cost per cartridge was still wasn't convinced cartridges were value for money. Shaver Shop put me onto the Gillette Sensor Excel - which I did prefer. But from there it was only a short step across to a Beard and Blade Starter kit and I was off and running.... shaving is no longer a chore but a highlight of each day!

Welcome aboard @Bicep123, sounds like you already have a good start on playing with different kinds of kit. The good thing about this rabbit hole is that it's only as expensive as you make it. The bad thing about this rabbit hole is that it's exactly as expensive as you make it.

Incidentally, don't rely on the ETA dates B&B give you, keep checking if there's something in particular that you want, as they sometimes have surprise arrivals (like Noble Otter at the moment)...

Edit: also consider this link when buying from B&B, but please don't share with non-members...
