Far out. I'm impressed. I've been meaning to ask, what is the black material on the handle of the other razor?

From the description “matt black carbon coating” and SS material underneath

im just as surprised!! There are things I like about all the razors I have but this one got me on every level

efficiency, smoothness, weight, balance, feel in the hand.. I guess I can always pass one down to my son, IF he eventually develops a love for shaving

I’ve always loved the r41 but pushing it to use as a daily driver, this takes it down to a perfect level for me to use as a daily..

I really like the look of this razor. I decided a while back that the R41 was probably just a tad too much as a daily driver, which is why I migrated to the GC-JAWS. I was put off after reading reviews of earlier versions of the Rocca, but it looks like Mühle have taken criticism on the chin and made serious improvements. (Kudos to them for that.) I'm done for this year (and 2021), but I'll be back for one of these beasties.

Can somebody please wave that bloody Rocca v4.0 right under his nose like a cuban cigar for a good long sniff.

No need, I'll be back. But not for a while. I was pushing the boat out with my Vector, so I had better leave it at that for now. Unlike some of us here, I don't have an unlimited budget to blow on shaving accessories, so I'm done until 2022.

Agree 100% and with this mornings first shave I'm almost ready to declare the Rocca my official RAD killer as this thing shaves so smooth yet efficient like the R41.
Only the Wolfman WR1 .61 SB felt as wonderful from first shave and this beauty is 1/4 the price!
Thanks again @StratMan for convincing me to take a gamble as I predict this one being my go-to Daily Shaver! :jawdrop:

I'll just repeat the original post - you can all thank me later -

The ROCCA series

Beautifully simple, yet particularly masculine: This is the new ROCCA range of products. A little more modern, and more distinctive than much of what is known from MÜHLE, they are made from the finest and most durable stainless steel. But it has been worth the effort: These products are particularly durable and robust.
The satin or slightly matt finish not only feels good in your hand, but is also pleasing to the eye and creates an elegant effect.
Even with all of these new details, ROCCA's heritage is still very evident. The design of this range is a further development of classic MÜHLE models; the name ROCCA (from the Italian for castle or fort) refers to the very best materials – and also to the fact that a MÜHLE product will last a lifetime and beyond.

ROCCA razor

No frills, but with fine extras: The ROCCA razor could not be clearer or more masculine. Its uninterrupted lines from attachment to base make it both beautiful and practical: Thanks to its ergonomic shape and the surface structure of the handle, it feels good in your hand. As connoisseurs say: It has grip. It turns an everyday ritual into a daily design experience.

The Material - Birch bark

For thousands of years birch-bark held a similar technical ranking to that of synthetic materials in today's modern world. With the varied and, at the same time, discrete texture, the bark convinces at first touch with its pleasant, comfortable warm feel. The material is extremely long-lasting, easy to grip, even when wet and easy to care for.

Measures
Dimension: 41 mm x 105 mm
Weight: 80 g

hey no worries man, I am happy you love it.

I was so happy with it I went and ordered the SS version last night also.. Dont ask me why, few drinks (Kindling), forum browsing (petrol) and the missus ok (the matchstick) dont mix

at least I have a spare (y)

I was half expecting my misses to flip but she was mellow considering I had sold the two razors prior.

I can't believe I missed this one earlier as Muhle have managed to ace it by producing a vast improvement over the R89 & R41. The finish and feel is great and once you get over the fact it has no lather channels it performs effortlessly!
I did find the shiny bits on the handle kinda slippery when covered in soap but the overall grip is great without being over the top/sand paper like. :)
Seriously second guessing the need for a Wolfman as this one gets the job done in a breeze and I look forward to spicing things up with a sharper blade...
So happy I have found 3 awesome razors that I could easily retire the rest of the collection... o_O

Not many people picked up the V4 after the previous versions post tab issues.
No local stock until recently.

@Mark1966 is correct birch bark has a beautiful handle, defianetly one that stands out from other razors.

If I ever need to emulate @StratMan and get a second Rocca then it will certainly be with the Birch Bark handle as it looks super sexy and I think I'd prefer the texture from the wood...?

Considering the difficulties Muhle had fixing the Rocca I'm surprised that the V4 has flown under the radar as its such a smooth shaver when paired with the Wizamet SI blade. Remembering the issues Rockwell had perfecting their 6S.

No wonder you're putting the Wolfman WR1 OC up for auction again as IMHO the Rocca matches it for blade feel, smoothness and efficiency! (y)

It's like Muhle bred the R89+R41 and made a baby they named Rocca.. with the smoothness of the R89 and the efficiency (nearly) of the R41, perfect..

I also felt it was a RAD killer from the first shave, but the RAD it didnt cure was for a duplicate (backup) razor

I have said right from the start the birch handle looked amazing and distinctive to anything else I have seen, and I still love it... If B&B had a birch handle I would of bought that last night

The grip on the black handle had no slippage what so ever, will compare against the stainless when I get it tomorrow. I am also considering some sales...........

It certainly is a beautiful razor, hopefully I dont end up with one of those also.. I cannot rule this out

tonight's shave will be with a nacet as you have recommended.. friday's shave with the SS will be with a feather (y)

A couple of things holding me back:
1. I just discovered a RAD pacifier in the Smart Helix Apollo Light and only on mild plate and 1st blade so plenty of mileage to go
2. Most comparisons mention R41 and JAWS both I found too aggressive for daily shaving
Is there any aggro in the Rocca V4 or all smooth efficiency?
Guess I will have to buy one to find out :)
