Importing aftershave

So I've been browsing giftsandcare... The postage is kinda high, but the prices make it worthwhile.

I'm thinking 8 or so (including large Floid bottles) bottles along with soap etc. I'll justify it to myself saying some will be gifts... Maybe the ones I don't like!

Are there any Aus customs issue with importing this kind of amount?
Anyone with experience know whether G&C would post this amount?

Thank guys!

Nah, you can't do it mate, they won't ship it.

Almost all vendors have stopped shipping AS, due to dangerous goods regulations going fully international. Used to be just the USA. It can still be done I think, but there's a huge premium on doing it, because of the admin and charges airlines put in place. You're better off buying Floid from Mensbiz

G&C used to send aftershave a couple of years back as we had a little group buy here to get some Floid A/S, La Toja soap and other things.
Wasn't a problem back then, but from memory took a while to get here.

/edit Looks like Drubbing has more recent info than me.

G&C will ship alcohol aftershaves and there will be no problems with Customs.

I've had a large parcel like this from G&C and so have others here. Juan from G&C has cleared this up in another post. You just need to select Sea/Ground Shipping. It is a little slower but it will get here within a few weeks.

Actually @stillshunter just had a shipment from G&C arrive (with alcohol based AS) so he can tell you specifics.

No problems with size either. The rates go up in steps, but then over 2kgs they dip a little before going up again. So it would be worthwhile to keep adding to check the price of shipping, as you could get a little cheaper postage with more items...

He is right about Floid though. It's $24 (last I looked) then 10% off for Discount and free shipping.

It's only worthwhile from G&C if you want the Floid Blue or a huge bottle. (Or if you're already buying from them.)

Sea shipping makes sense. Not many others will bother to offer this option though.
Exactly right. Hardly anyone these days. So it's great that Juan of G&C still does this.
The other vendor I know who will ship alcohols internationally is Italian Barber in Canada. It's the cost though that kills so it only makes it worthwhile for very large purchases and group buys.

G&C are excellent however VMD (Czech chemist mob) offer seamail, heck they'll even send your stuff via it without even telling you! :( Come July/August I'll really be looking forward to what I ordered in FEB.

There's a lot of water between there and here...

I put in a big aftershave order with Juan about two weeks ago. It hasn't arrived yet but if it's going to be going seamail (I didn't know) it probably won't be here for some weeks.

As @filobiblic says no problems up until last week - Myrsol landed safe and sound. You can't do the express FedEx, UPS, DHL 3-5 day thing, but neither did it need to resort to boat, just the usual 7-10 day exemplary service from G&C - I believe they'll use alternatives such as PostNL to get it to you in reasonable time and at reasonable cost. Juan is a legend full stop.

...and @Drubbing , mate, best leave this sort of call to the guys that actually buy stuff ....

Brave boy @stillshunter you poked the @Drubbing :)

Don't they say anticipation is half the fun @Nick the Knife ? :)
Well @gthomas04 that does ring a bell but on this occasion the Skoda driving chemists have IMHO been just a tad cruel. How on earth does it take 3-4mths for Seamail to get from A to B anyway - is it on the HMS Endeavour or do they do an 'all stations to Central' jobbie and stop off at every single port along the way swilling their rum and keeping the ladies of the night in business?

Failing "P&C" working, then leverage off the idiots at YKW...they got to be good for something.

"B&B" - 5% off
"SB10" - 10% off on shaving brushes
