I'm really digging this at the moment.

However the fact that I am a cheapskate probably indicates that I won't buy one.

Is that the "cocktail time" one Eggy?

I really do like the Seiko Marine Master for the auto divers but I can't see spending that type of coin on a watch while I have kids at home ie the next 20+ years

Yup that's the one.

Seiko really do have watches for all occassions (and prices).

Oops, meant to add to the above: US$12.19 delivered with code NF0722

Whats in the watch-box currently:

My beaters: Hamilton railroad classic. Love almost everything about this watch except the loom

Margarette Vantage: NZ Micro manufacturer. Great quality and love the look of the bronze housing. Probably my second most used watch, a reserve beater if you will.

Seiko MM300 anniversary limited edition. Mostly used for special occasions so doesn't see the light of day so often
IMG_0629.jpg

Work/formal watch: Seiko Ananta double retro. Love the lines, the design, its accuracy.

Sold all my "vintage" except these, couldn't bring myself to part with them.
Gold Seiko hi-beat: Practically never gets used,

Omega Suveran bullseye. Lots of great history behind these, but again it never gets any use.

Last but not least. Seiko bullhead, currently needing repair/service, just stopped working after unwinding in its box.

Grail watch: Speedy snoopy :)

I recently picked up a Panzera Aquamarine and a Glycine Incursore. Very happy with both. Glycine seem to be offloading current stock at great prices after being bought out by Invicta
BIG watches!

I only recently came across Margarette watches and quite like them. How do you find the overall finish and quality?

Can only comment on this one as I've never owned one before @J.Mac

Finish on the casing is excellent, clean lines and smooth edges front and back, threading on the crown is precise and it screws down tight without issue. Sandwich dial is nice with the "hanging" logos and the lume on it is absolutely AMAZING!, best i've ever seen. I've always used an aftermarket strap on it as the one that came with it wasn't the best quality in my opinion. Comes well presented in a leather case with a small tool for strap changes.

The Miyota 9015 Movement is a workhorse, this one was very accurate when i tested it over a longer period...... think it was over a week, and not much more than a minute out (slow). Its in a rotation now so is seldom worn more than two consecutive days. 40+ running hours is maybe a little optimistic, but i've never had it run empty on me when in use. (not sure if its unidirectional winding). The auto rotor can be a bit loud if you wear it to bed, but isn't noticeable in every day use. Its also a use and throw movement, so no massive service/repair cost as its cheaper to just replace the whole thing @ $100 or so.

All in all, i have no regrets whatsoever (y)

A nice list, but you are welcome to create your own thread. Magrette are a very nice microbrand and I'd like one someday day but I have too many on my list before I would go for one. I do love the highly decorated limiteds, the WUS member who does them is amazing.

I will say that the second Karlskrona was discounted since I was buying both, just asked if he shipped them at the same time would there be a small discount. And one was provided just like that. Todd also very attentive via email, so looking forward to them arriving in March.

I just bought two watches - a G Shock GD350-1b which I now need to sell because it's too big, although it is the most legible negative display Casio makes. Vibe alarm is also great.

And a Casio w800h, which is perfect - legible, 10 year battery life, 100m WR and all of 20bux online... I'll use the smart phone for all the advanced functions. Nice change from the old Tissot dress watch which I need a new band for - btw where do people buy NATOs?

Nice watches @Monsta_AU

You can get the on eBay or Ali and the like, but quality varies. There's plenty of discussion and specials on WUS, including the leather backed ones which I like. Some of the better guys also go DLC hardware on natos, some offer polished, brushed or even blasted finishes on the hardware too.

You better watch out, @RazorPlay - wearing that G-Shock in our neck of the woods will have people thinking you are SAS ;)
