Pre: Hot Shower
Brush: Omega 10029
Soap: Razorock Green Label
Razor: Muhle Rocca R95
Blade: Gillette Nacet (2)
Post: The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner, Nivea Skin & Stubble

If the Minora is the all-rounder golden boy the Nacet is the gung ho bad boy. Very close shave, almost too close for comfort at some points. No nicks, but if you’re not paying attention….

Razor: Blackland Blackbird
Blade: Gillette Nacet
Brush: Leonidam "Nautilus" Two Band Fan 28mm HDGEL Tips
Soap: Sphinx - Ecstasy
Aftershave: Sphinx - Ecstasy Splash

Excellent 3-pass shave. The blackbird has almost killed my RAD, definitely going to grab the titanium next release. Great scent inspired by Roja Parfums Elysium, to my nose it smells like a mixture of Bleu De Chanel & Aventus. Unsure if it's a keeper yet.

That blackbird does look the business.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: CaYuen "Copper Ore" 30mm SynBad
Soap: TOBS Sandalwood Cream, NO Two Kings
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Feather Professional
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+
COTD: Hamasil Village, Yemen

This single-use sachet of TOBS is the last of a bundle that were included with something or other long since forgotten. First impression: "Eurrgh, yuck".:yuck:

The scent should come with a disclaimer: "...totally synthetic, and any resemblance to substance of natural origin is entirely coincidental and unintentional". Fuck that, no way was I putting that on my skin, so reached for the first tub in the drawer. Nothing wrong with NO2K. (y)

Back to the last of my samples tomorrow...

A full shave
  • Prep: Hot Splash
  • Razor: Razorock – Lupo Aluminium
  • Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
  • Brush: Yaqi - Lucky Dice
  • Lather: Wife's Homemade Soap - Sweet Cakes Bay Rum
  • Post-shave: Proraso – Alum Block
I just have not been in the mood for a shave recently, even though every shave I talk about it becoming somewhat of a ritual each and every time.

After a nice splash from the hot water. A lovely creamy lather up top using my wife's homemade soap again. I think we may just stick with homemade soaps if we can find corresponding scents that I really enjoy.

Two passes up on the dome. Nice clean shave with a great outcome. Although I did give myself a significant nick somewhere around the back.

Followed the dome shave with a single pass face shave. The soap was little thin by now, but enough to give me a first pass. I wasn't in the mood for a second pass, but the single pass gave me a decent shave. Decent enough to not even warrant a second pass.

The shaving ritual is slowly coming back, although maybe not as quick as I would like.

Focus Slim Al

Ariana & Evans - SoCal Hipster

Second shave with the Slim Al and treated it with caution and respect this time.
Feeling the burn!

You too? A&E seem to be getting a reputation for incinerating their customers. Not what I would call a good business model...
Not frag burn more of a razor burn. Still dialing in the Slim Al. Reminds me of R41 post shave feel.
A&E SoCal Hipster is a wonderful top performing very slick soap with a delightful fragrance but not sure I would like as an aftershave

Pre: Hot Shower
Brush: Yaqi Everest
Soap: Razorock What the Puck Orange Sunrise
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable (6, 7)
Blade: Gillette Nacet (3)
Post: The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner, Nivea Skin & Stubble

And the end of the long weekend. Better lay off the Nacet and aggresive razors for next shave. Feeling a little delicate now. Can't fault the Razorock soap's performance but the scent is nothing like blood orange as it purports to be.

Pre-shave: Hot shower

Razor: Muhle R95 Rocca Birch Bark handle
Blade: Iridium Super (3)
Post-shave: Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Weinstrasse splash
Fragrance: Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Weinstrasse EDT

So nice indeed
