2022 Memorial auction for the Cancer Council

The 2022 Paste & Cut Memorial auction for the Cancer Council is coming up in October this year, dates below.

Another year has passed since we lost our dear friend and member here @Draco Noir/Tim Keech after a long battle to liver cancer - he will be always in our hearts and thoughts. Of course there have been other members here who have passed away, Canberra local @Nico being last year as well.

After three very successful years, we want to again honour Tim and others, by trying to raise funds for the Australian Cancer Council - and as always we need your help to achieve this - so save your pennies.

How successful have these auction been?

• 2019 auction - $4,347
• 2020 auction - $8,500
• 2021 auction - $6,952

Seriously, that is the best way of getting money straight to the Cancer Council through significant winning donations.

Of course we will also accept auction items you may want to contribute. We need to have details by Friday 23 September. If the item is one you have in your possession you will need to be willing to post at least within Australia at your cost, international postage is up to you.

The auctions are going live for bidding on Sunday 2nd October 2022 by 12.00pm AEDT.

The auctions will close Saturday, 8th October 2022 at 12.00pm AEDT (unless auction extended, see rules)

2018 auction - $4,278 raised

There was a fantastic Hoffritz slant - Mint condition Hoffritz Slant, in its chrome tin with metal blade holders & a couple of packs of Polsilvers

Another special items was the first ever Paste & Cut LE brush released in 2017 and only 25 LE's and 1 prototype were made by @Tony Forsyth - you can read all about it here in this thread.

As the seller said - This is my own LE, which has never touched water. It was only taken out when I received it for this picture and stored in the original packaging since then.

There was also an identical set of matching soap/splash from Squadron Soaps. The scent is comprised of Bergamot, Cardamom, Nutmeg and Amber. It is a set that he made for himself some time ago, and has never been released to the public previously, and they will not be available for sale again by Squadron.

We all know that you deserve a treat, and what better treat than a haircut and hot towel shave from the expert barbers at Mensbiz!



Each voucher was redeemable in your choice of Mensbiz stores in Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra.​

Finally, in this little Sunday Flashback, 4 AP Reserve Fragrances taken from @todras's private collection. As he described them - These are exquisite 30ml Extrait de Parfums with each perfume reflecting one of the four seasons.

This collection of perfume is unique: no expense has been spared with the materials and these perfumes will never again been offered for sale due to their cost.

The fragrances are donated in honour of the memory of our friend and wet-shaving brother Tim Keech whose friendship and contribution to our community will be forever missed.

I deeply and sincerely hope that any money raised from the sale of these items may somehow assist with research, treatment and the provision of care for those persons diagnosed with Cancer in Australia. Absolutely all money raised from this sale will be donated to the Australian Cancer Council.

Great summary @Mark1966 and still spewing I missed out on scoring something in 2018 as I was naïve and slow to offer a counter bid but looking forward to what 2022 will bring!

a sensational brush from Paladin -

a one of a kind raised beehive honey noir 28 mm Paladin brush with a unique Paste & Cut engraving on the back.
The brush comes with the Paladin picture card as well as the original shipping tube.

ANOTHER one of a kind creation from Charcoal Goods -

one of a kind Charcoal Goods Generation 1 Level 2 razor with a unique Paste & Cut engraving on the backplate. It represents the final production run of the Charcoal Goods Generation 1 base plate design and is no longer available (even without the unique engraving). It comes with the matching top cap and a Charcoal Goods Stinger handle, which is the prototype for this handle. The razor has been machined from solid brass and then finished by hand.

Not to be outdone, our very own @Tony Forsyth created some cracking brushes, including this one -

Our "Gold/Pearl " TF Custom Shaving brush handle is hand cast right here in Western Australia. The handle is then turned drilled and polished and the Manchurian 2 Band Finest knots are set here in our workshop in Brisbane.

one 4oz tub of Australian Private Reserve and Noble Otter shaving soap and 4oz of the matching post-shave splash

According to Noble Otter website "A melody that pays tribute to both Texas and Australia. The scent opens with a creamy sweet citrus and dries down into a beautifully blended base of Australian and Vanuatu Sandalwoods, Musk and Vanilla."
