Curiosity after the post seeking the green Alovera version of Cella soap.
Does or has anyone used the brick version of this [red] soap?
I believe there is an unscented version but not certain.
The B&B forum seems to believe the red tub version is a different soap in some way to the 1 kg pack.
Quiet day - curious.

I've had a portion of the brick type, shared by another member here about a year or more ago. Though I've no idea if it's different from the stuff in the red tub, but I don't see why it would be. Quite soft, with a sweet almond scent. A little saccharine for my taste, but it works OK.

I received a tub or Red & Green via @Tulfan to compliment my own tub of Red and if you don't like the Almond/Marzapan scent then the Green is the way to go as a pleasant fresh scent.

Performance wise they're quite similar with my memory telling me the Green was softer but equally nice lather from both. I also had a sample of the 1kg block from @Kaeckerut and had no issues with spoilage as vacuum sealed with scent keeping well. No reason to suspect a different base as performed as expected?!

I like Cella but its quite expensive considering you can get a tub of Stirling Black Cherry that smells/looks similar but pales in performance at the price... YMMV

The big block is the old formula and this will NEVER changed, however, the red tub has more ingredients or new formula add to the new red tub version.

There’s a topic on Badger and Blade tells you all about the changes to Cella, just remember only the big block size will never change the old formula.

Not MORE reformulation!

That never seems to end well.

Tetrasodium EDTA - controversial preservative with skin penetrative effects. :(

Was Cella one of the soaps that was having rancid issues on the original formula?

Yes. The original old formula Cella red tub was giving me skin issues with redness irritation, and the new red tub formula version doesn’t give me any issues anymore with redness skin irritation.

Cella going off. A by product of having 50+ soaps in rotation and tubs lasting longer than a year or two 😄. The formula doesn't work for 'hobbyists'.
I’ve read somewhere on Badger and Blade by storing the 1kg block size old formula in the freezer, this will last longer than two years without going off.

By cutting the pieces off the 1kg block is still a great idea to refill the red tub, will last about 7 or 8 months, if, you only used Cella for the rest of your life for another words only one soap in your den. I’ve read somewhere saying Cella soap is great throughout the whole season.
