Greetings folks!

If you haven't already worked it out @Kevlar Merkin the mods here are HOPELESS and threads get sidetracked so easily and so often ...

Going to try my hand at a multiquote. The forum software looks very familiar.
Greetings, Kevlar. I recognise you from the Shave Den.
Hey @Ozwhisker! Yup, it's me Rick (at The Shave Den I'm RyX).
What are your favourite soaps or creams to use?
Hey @tim33z! I've been through the easy to find local store shelf products like VDH, modern Williams, Marvy, & KFM. Got lucky finding vintage Colgate puck and Williams stick. Prefer hard puck soaps like Klar, Tabac, RazoRock WTP, and the like. I also enjoy a number of scents offered by Stirling like Glastonbury & the Old Spice dupe. Recently got a tub of Wickham and some Soap Commander in a Pass Around. The one Mystic Water I've tried is good, too. Scads of others that I'm not recalling. I try to use them all, but at some point the cabinet got full.
Another Yank stealing an Australian lady I see.
It's not that bad, @Mark1966 . She's from Thailand, now an Aussie citizen. My son didn't scoop up any local born.
So my suggestion would be to bring a few (not many) bottles of good artisan aftershaves or edt's.
That's the info I was looking for. If I limit it to half a dozen bottles carefully packed, I could bring in a good mix of Pinaud AS/colognes. They sell cheap here. Question is are they available there?
Leave the precious family heirloom razor behind etc.
Yup @tim33z . Most of my gear is either well used vintage of no particular value, or Chinese knock offs of well known razors. I find Gillette Fat Boys & Slims, Red Tips and Single Rings for garage sale prices. My only heirloom is a Schick Krona that I find too mild.
If your razor/items have ivory or a rare antiquities then don't bring them.
Not much bling in my gear #RustyBlade . I'll leave the Rubberset 400, bring the Omega brushes. Leave all the L.E. gear that can't be easily replaced.
Shave wise you can't pack anything exciting in your carry on - but more freedom in your checked including *some* aftershave and colognes (the amount somewhat disputed). Aussie customs can be brutal about quarantine law though so please do make sure you fill out the incoming passenger card correctly :)
Thanks @Mark1966 - I'll read up on that card. Been a while since I traveled out of country. Things have changed.
I'm intrigued on your chosen alias name.
That was the idea when I came up with it.
So we are talking about a bullet proof [cricket] box? Right?
Pretty much.
the name just sounded cool.
Years ago when my 4 children were in their teens, we all played EverQuest. It was an online swords and dragons game. The Moderators were picky about what names they would allow. Kevlar was acceptable & Merkin was obscure. Doubt anyone wondered, but that character was a barbarian rogue. Another character I played was Hesty Heffew. Care to take a guess? There's a little internet residue left from a motorcycle forum I was in, and an entry in The Urban Dictionary if you google hard enough.

Being trained in sales, but preferring to work construction, I'll skip the open ended question and work on building my rep with you guys. Good to meet everyone!

I've had two different experiences with Shave Forum Mods. At B&B I was booted & banned by a first class jerk. Now that I'm a Mod (on that other forum) I prefer to be either hopeless or helpful. I like being a kindly janitor using his electronic mop to keep the forum floors clean. As to Topic Drift? A known phenomenon, also referred to as Godwin's Law. I did read the Rules on my way in. If I want to "be a dick" I have places where that's allowed and encouraged, but I'll be a good forum member soon as I figure out what that means here.

I’m intrigued to ask how and why you know this!!??!!
Well.. I'm well travelled, learn and explore. Common knowledge I thought.
I am sorry if this region is off-limits to you. For others the merkin is placed in the nether region. ;)
Lol, Yes, my bad, I blame autocorrect and before my morning coffee.

@Kevlar Merkin sorry mate for hijacking your welcome thread. Yes a little bit of motorcycle porn still left out there. The Heffew I'll leave alone. Plus my firewall blocked a few sites and thought I'd stop now as NSFW.
Aussies and Kiwis usually mock each other openly. So slip right in, merkin and all.

.... I'll be a good forum member soon as I figure out what that means here.

When you do figure it out can you let the rest of us know too? Thanks :)

Speaking of slipping one in..
Any techno Wizards explain to me how to post a photo in my SOTD? I've bumbled around, used the search box, and get that P&C doesn't host images. Seems my Google Drive freebie account link doesn't mesh with forum code. Short of spending real money what are my options?

I'm sure there are many more adept members here, but the few times I have posted an image I've used Flickr (https://paste-and-cut.com.au/community/threads/uploading-pics-flickr.2874/) although this doesn't work from a mobile. If using a mobile you have to request the desktop site to find the BBcode link

Imgur - can all be done from an iphone (i guess android as well).
Get the link once you upload to imgur, and paste that into the insert "image box" above.
But then i dont want to upload here at full size so i add an 'l' (lowercase L) right before the .jpg to reduce the file size.

Thank you Kind Sirs for the hints and tips. I'll look into these services.

I almost used the "G" word. I don't expect anyone to cut me slack just because I'm new to the forum. I will be blunt and ask. I haven't noticed any Ladies around so were all Men, but why not "gentle"? As I understand the term is wasn't about having a light touch. More being honorable and courteous.

I’m not a gentleman, I work for a living.

Gentlemen, corresponds to the French word of gentilhomme ("nobleman"),
above the rank of common tradesmen when their manners are indicative of a certain amount of refinement and intelligence. Who has time and wealth to pursue others areas of interest outside his livelihood.
Which is why is it so generally applied in modern times.

Good day gentleman.

If only we had an emoticon of 'blundering a badger to death' as I'd use it now. :beaver:
