Please forgive me my ignorance, but do you need only single edge blades for that or there is a special device that can cut normal double edges blades into two halves?

De blades are made to snap in half at least that's I used to do when I was using a shavette.

But what about curved part near the place where you folded them? It's still all right?

My shavette had notches where the curved bits sat. This kept the blade level when clamped.
