My Gillette birth year razor is a 1973 Gillette Super Adjustable 109, also known as the 'Black Beauty'.

I have literally just purchased the razor shown below, from a member of another forum in the USA.

The underside of the razor is stamped with a T and 1, which i believe the T represents the year 1973 and the 1 represents the first quarter of that year. This is just perfect considering my bday is in February, 1973

I never though i would buy into this vintage razor business but there you go, that dam rabbit hole is deeper than i anticipated :)

Enjoy the pics and I hope you all have a merry xmas!!!

Wow, very nice example.
I think you’ll get on just fine with it, they’re a great razor.

@SpeedyPC i am usually a short handle guy but this is the long one. My preference is around 8cm and this one is 10.9 so not sure how that will go, should be ok i reckon.. something different
Always get two of these Black Beauty in short and long handle, short handle is very easy to dial-in and the long handle takes a bit of time to dial-in because the weight is different.

The best vintage adjustable imo. That's a great condition one.

Your collect now needs a
Fatboy
Slim
Super Adjustable short handle
SA plastic tray
Slim aristocrat
Gold Fatboy
Toggle
Red dot fatboy
Bottom dial fatboy
Black dial bottom dial variation
Gold Toggle
...
What ones did I miss?

Enjoy the rather expensive rabbit hole.

Ha, I’m from ‘49 and STILL searching for a year of birth razor in good condition. Currently using Feather AS-D1 with Nacet blades - nice shaves.

Shouldn't be too hard to find a decent TTO, or a Tech should be easy. I'm not into the whole birth year thing, I like stuff that's older than me.
