G'day ;)

My brother has been asking me strange question that I'm unable to answer and he refuse to post his question here at P&C, he ask me if I've heard about Pure Emu Oil can be used as an Aftershave Balm because emu oil helps the skin to heal much quicker against razor burn and irritation after shaving so has anybody used pure emu oil if so which brand do you strongly recommended.

Emu Tracks Pure Emu Oil is 100% natural with no added preservatives. Pure Emu Oil is beneficial due to its powerful anti-inflammatory properties and superior penetrating properties that allow the oil to penetrate the stratum corneum barrier (outer layer of skin). Detailed analysis has shown that oleic acid is the major fatty acid in Emu Oil which is a recognised enhancer of dermal penetration.

It is a natural source of Omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9 - essential fatty acids that are not produced by the human body but are essential for good health and well-being.

Research studies have proven that Emu Oil can promote the regeneration of skin tissue, as it increases the rate of proliferation of fibroblasts, the main skin cells in tissue culture. A number of burns units throughout the world have shown that when applied topically, Emu Oil reduces pain associated with burns. It also speeds up the healing process and results in less scarring.

Emu Oil is hypo-allergenic and is therefore suitable for people with sensitive skin or chronic skin conditions. When used correctly, Emu Oil products leave the skin smooth and silky without an oily residue. Emu Oil products provide economical usage due to its spreadable nature.

Emu Oil can be applied externally and is also available in capsule form for taking internally. For chronic conditions, it may be recommended to utilise both methods. For best results, use regularly.

It can be used, that doesn't mean to say it will help everyone. If someone has the sort of skin that gets soothing from moisturising products, then it might help. If you don't, it probably won't. all oils and moisturisers do is hydrate skin, they don't really do anything beyond that. But the marketing would say it cures cancer if they could get away with it.

The best 'cure' for razor burn is prevention. You can't fix poor technique with fixer uppers. If I have the occasional shave where I've tried a bit too hard, my aftershave will tell me, but it will heal and sooth instantly. But if I did that kind of shave every day, it would just sting more and flare up the irritation again. The same is likely for using oils.
