Recycling cheap and used DE blades

Wonder if you can forge them to form a Damascus blade?
@Substance I guess would be the one to give this a shot, as despite the desire to, it will be awhile at minimum before I've a forge to try :)
 
ah the old why not hone your DE blades question
sure you can hone a vintage DE blade, hence why there are so many devices to do it,
but new blades tend to have a polymer coating of some sort on the edge to make them smoother coming off the factory grinders that is not so great to hone & is the juice worth the squeeze?

forging the blades into a billet I think would require the use of a canister type system with powdered steel to fill the voids & add material
or
fully seal weld the razors together with a outer layer of thicker material to bond it all and hold the heat in, as being so thin they would oxidize into scale very quickly while trying to get to forging temp if not protected some how
again is the juice worth the squeeze compared to starting with a thicker "known" material to make Damascus
