hi gents, I have a Rocket on its way to me but it has a loose base plate. I believe it's a relatively easy fix but would appreciate a point in the right direction or an instruction or two. Hope someone can assist as I'd like to tackle it myself. Thanks in advance if you can help.

**hope I posted this in the right sub-forum, mods?

Yep - pics and details. Sounds like the flaring on the join needs a little work

Rocket has landed and pics now appear - so what do you reckon?

Okay, thanks, Sxot. Any tips or instructions on the best way of setting this up for peening? I dont think it will be difficult, but at the same time I don't want to screw it up.

From the look of it, the alloy shaft is made to twist and lock into the base plate. So a light peen with a centre punch should do it.

I have not worked on razors before but the base material is soft, so should peen easily. Centre punch would do it but I would go for a chisel (masonry kind, not the timber kind) or a large blade screwdriver so that you are getting two spots 180° apart. This should ensure the head is locked in even and perpendicular.
