Bushfire collection has become part of Saturday ritual along with str8 stropping and shave
The Dark Horse 26mm brush was an absolute pleasure to use, not as stiff as boar/badger but that suits me perfectly. Long handle takes all the RSI out of bowl lathering.
Shaved over 50% with str8 today and learnt not to go ATG on the neck. Texas on Fire - I smell ashes and coals - SWMBO smells medicine

Pre: Hot Shower
Razor: Charcoal Goods Level-2 base plate, limited edition Victorian.
Blade: Rapira platinum lux
Bowl: Handmade bowl, Mk3
Brush: RazoRock Silvertip Synthetic
Soap: Tabac original
Post: Tabac original after shave
WTG, ATG, touch ups with adjusted angles for my beard.
First use with the Rapira platinum lux in the CG. Very smooth and comfortable shave. May just be the blade of choice in the CG. Time will tell.

Texas on Fire has given the bowl a lovely burnt wood smell, perfect for this set.

So I take a phone call half way through 2nd pass with lather still covering half my face which by the time I finish phone call (30 mins later) has dried to a white layer. Resume shave post phone call and manage several large weepers. Moral of the story - don't take phone calls mid shave........but you didn't need me to tell you that did you............:banghead:

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Shavemac 3-band Silvertip Badger
Soap: Ariana & Evans Grecial Horse
Razor: Blackland Blackbird (long handle)
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Swede (1)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel
Scent:TOBS Sandalwood Cologne

An absolutely life-affirming shave. I love the appearance and performance of my newly acquired long handle Blackbird in machined finish.
The Blackbird and vintage Gillette Swede chuckled with contempt at my coarse 5 day growth, and effortlessly scythed me smooth.
I was at DFS after two passes, but the shave was going so wonderfully well that I performed a third ATG pass for a BBS finish.

The old world charm of the TOBS sandalwood cologne was a great way to finish.

Pre-shave: Hot shower

Soap/Cream: Santa Maria Novella Crema da Barba
Razor: Vintage Gillette L1 Slim Adjustable (5)

Shaves Of The Week!

Brush: Omega (Proraso) boar
Face: Timeless Bronze OC
Blade: Gillette Rubie Premium (6)
Pre: Shower
Bowl: Pereira Shavery Lathering Bowl
Soap: Pb No: 35.1 sample
Post: Palmers Olive Butter Lotion

I had forgotten how efficient the OC shaved and thankfully the blade and lather assisted in producing a wonderful near BBS in 2 passes!

Brush: Omega (Proraso) boar
Face: Rockwell 6S (R6 plate)
Blade: Gillette Nacet (4)
Pre: Shower
Bowl: Pereira Shavery Lathering Bowl
Soap: Pb No: 35.1 sample
Post: Palmers Olive Butter Lotion

An effortless DFS with the soap providing endless luscious lather. The Nacet pairs perfectly with this razor on all plates!!! Had a few days off work getting over a cold / mild fever so limited the shaves... :(

Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
Face: iKon 102 slant + OSS handle
Blade: Gillette Nacet (5)
Pre: Shower
Bowl: Pereira Shavery Lathering Bowl
Soap: Cella
Post: APR Escentials Restoration Serum

Although not as efficient as say the Wunderbar, I still find the 102 slant to shave super close when paired with a sharper blade. Back to using the Cella as its such a great performer for those quick shower shaves!

Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
Head: Leaf Razor
Blade: Polsilver SI (3)
Pre: Shower
Bowl: Pereira Shavery Lathering Bowl
Soap: Cella
Post: APR Escentials Restoration Serum

Back to full health after a busy week getting over a cold and restructures at work. Let the hair grow out so time to shave it off. Finished off with the Serum as it makes those annoying blemishes disappear! Happy shaves :)

Pre: Hot shower.
Razor: Smart Helix Apollo, Mild Plate
Blade: Rapira platinum lux
Bowl: Handmade bowl, Mk3
Brush: RazoRock Silvertip Synthetic
Soap: Stirling Executive Man
Post: Stirling Executive Man Aftershave Splash
WTG, ATG, touch up with adjusted angles for my beard.
What's not to like. Smart Helix Apollo shaves are smooth and comfortable, no tugging or pulling. It's a nicely balanced razor that feels good in the hand. A joy to use.

Yeah about about that blade wiping thing........ I always wipe my blades and can't tell the difference between wiped and non wiped (no cats were used in this exercise), are you saying that's because I'm stupid?
I just assumed if any coatings were able to be wiped off that easily how would they ever make it past the first shave? Hmm...too late to ask for a friend.

Thiers Issard, blonde horn, Superbadger
B&M Nordost
Charcoal Goods, Stinger, LVL2, Closed comb

The level 2 plates never disappoint for me. I just know that I will get a great shave with them. Coupled with a vintage Perma Sharp and it was a lovely start to the day.
Haha, you were thinking what I was thinking B2...... a bit of smoked orangy goodness.(y)
