First time using the Personna Lab Blue 'Comfort Coated' made from USA, another great middle of the road everyday shaver.
Keep in mind for 100 blades doesn't come cheaper against the Astra Superior Platinum, if, you're looking for a very comfortable irritation free everyday shaver, you can't go wrong with both blades either Astra Superior Platinum or Personna Lab Blue 'Comfort Coated' made from USA.

Yes, they're far smoother on the first shave without any harsh scrapping dragging feels from the BIC during the first shave, the BIC blade edge will become smoother after 2 or 3 shaves.

Forgot to add the BIC Chrome Platinum can stretch up to a maximum of 12 to 15 shaves per blade, depending on your stubble as YMMV.

As @StratMan correctly posted on a different Thread, BICs are very hit and miss as personally I find they shave well with the Rocca yet super harsh with my other DE razors. Still better value than the Feathers which is great as both tend to only shave fantastically for sub 5 shaves with thicker stubble... YMMV!

Are you referring to two different American Personna Lab blue? one for the hospital and the other not for hospital use? then no, I haven't properly tested both blades?

This topic is very interesting and something I didn't know about varied edge-to-edge blade widths for each brand.

KAI SS VS Gillette Sputnik, DE Blades

I have always been on a quest for a wider DE razor blades to increase blade feel or blade exposure. I recently bought a razor head that uses 4 corner posts to align the blade properly while tightening down the razor blade(different way of blade alignment). My Kai SS extra wide blade works 99%...

There's also a razor blade sharpness summary with comparison chart where this guy tests the amount of force required to cut a given fibre. It takes the subjectiveness out of it, but presumably says nothing about the smoothness of the edge.
