Discussion of customs declaration descriptions was an attempt to find a lawful description that would not lead to unnecessary hold ups in customs. No attempt to thwart export or import restrictions was or intended to be made.

There is no restriction on importing alcohol based aftershaves into Australia. The issue with exporting alcohol based aftershaves out of the US is limited to USPS and other government postal services because of IATA as they are using passenger aircraft. Courier companies have their own aircraft and do not follow IATA rules.

As a case in point I had a had shipment of alcohol based aftershaves sent via overnight air freight, with FedEx, within the United States yesterday no problem, full disclosure from the vendor. They are in the air now. Shipito confirmed there would be no issue using FedEx to export for the same reason although took no responsibility for this fact and asked me to confirm with FedEx.
