Well, the wife and kids will be staying overnight at Canberra this Sunday. So any idea what activities would suit a 2 and 4 year olds.

I know a few members live round the area so I thought of asking what’s good.

I am out of touch with children's activities around Canberra. Questacon is a popular destination for kids.

Pod Playground at the Arboretum is also a popular place.

+1 on Questacon...don't know about kids but my wife and I had a fantastic time there last time we visited :D :D :D

Hey @Rami

War Memorial is great, but maybe not of interest to ones that young - https://www.awm.gov.au/

Questacon is cool - https://www.questacon.edu.au/

Driving around the embassies is easy to do - https://www.nca.gov.au/tour/yarralumla-diplomatic-estate-driving-tour

Gotta put a plug in for - https://www.aph.gov.au/Visit_Parliament

Mount Ainsle Lookout is where the locals go rather than Telstra Tower - https://www.environment.act.gov.au/...erra-nature-park/mount-ainslie-nature-reserve

National Zoo is pretty cool and compact enough too (we have white lions!) - https://nationalzoo.com.au/

National Museum might be worthwhile if they have something special for kids - https://www.nma.gov.au/

The Botanic Gardens can be really lovely for a walk too, and free! - https://www.anbg.gov.au/gardens/

Cockington Green is a must - https://www.cockingtongreen.com.au/

Arboretum has some different views of Canberra and nice to look out from and a great playground for kids I'm told - https://www.nationalarboretum.act.gov.au/

Weston Park … - https://www.environment.act.gov.au/...-reserves/find-a-park/urban-parks/weston-park

… has the minature train - https://www.yarraps.com.au/

The Carillon (when playing) is lovely and Aspen Island where it is located is a great spot for a picnic or just a wander - https://www.nca.gov.au/carillon

The Sculpture Gardens at the back of the NGA (https://nga.gov.au/visiting/) are cool too, especially when Fujiko Nakaya's fog sculpture Foggy wake in a desert: An ecosphere is in operation 12.30–2.00pm daily. Fine mist spray creates a fog which kids love

Getting out on the Lake in a GoBoat is kinda cool too - https://goboatcanberra.com.au/

So much to do that I never knew existed!

Fun fact:
I did a year 6 assignment on the Carillon but have never heard it play in person. Come to think of it, the internet wasn’t around back then either so I might go YouTube it....

Tip of the iceberg!

Will that be the same?

Just on the way back. Did the embassy tour last night and questacon today. Kids and adults are happy.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions.

Sorry for the lousy weather today mate :(

After sensationally warm last weekend and during the week it really turned last night.

Well, good thing it was indoors. Canberra is a bit colder than I thought.

Considering the typical quality ACT weather, defrost!

Now I know why you all drink whiskey. I need a shot to warm me tonight

I highly recommend finding a sitter and dropping into Hippo Co for a whisky/scotch. Or a fine dining evening at Aubergine.

Aubergine is fantastic!

Next time will do.

My wife and I met at Hippo ~10 years ago.
... And she's quite fond of Aubergine. (she used to work in silver-service and so appreciates high standards)

Also fond of 'Courgette' and 'Sage'.

Hmmm, bit of a theme there.
