First off, excuse the poor quality of the images. I received this razor this afternoon and have yet to shave with it. It is a well constructed razor, the head is not as bulky as say a Timeless razor and the handle is not too long. This is a precision instrument with very tight tolerances. I will post a picture comparing its dimensions to other razors that I like. Some people don’t like the proprietary handle but since I don’t swap out handles and use the handle that came with the razor that is a non issue for me. I was aware that the razor tabs extend past the razor head slightly and that is a pet peeve of mine but not a deal breaker. The razor came with 3 Feather blades so I assume that those blades work best with this razor. This razor has been compared favourably to the Karve razor so we’ll see. Merry Christmas everyone and a happy new year.

I just had my first shave with the Masamune using a feather razor and my go to soap. Two passes and a DFS shave or three passes and an easy bbs shave. It is a mild razor but also efficient and SMOOTH. I normally don’t chase bbs shaves because that usually ends up being uncomfortable but I did today. It’s nice when a razor lives up to the hype and in this case the hype is well deserved. It was only the first shave but the only other razor that impressed me this much was the RS-10. In fact, I would recommend this razor over the RS-10 not only because it is half the price but also because it gives just as good a shave. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my RS-10 (talk about razor porn) and will never sell it but the Masamune is terrific as well. I have been disappointed in the past with much hyped razors (Blackbird Sabre, Timeless .68, Rocca, etc) but not this time. I need to see if the Masamune works with other razor blade brands like Polsilver, Astra, Persona and others. Next up is the Karve SS, but apparently that could take some time for it to get to me.

Hi @Rhinehoth how does the Masamune compare to RazoRock Game Changer .84 SB

Hi @Rhinehoth how does the Masamune compare to RazoRock Game Changer .84 SB
The RazorRock Game Changer .84 SB is more aggressive and not a daily shaver (for me). The Game Changer has a shorter, thicker handle, is slightly heavier than the Masumane and the razor tabs are covered by the Game Changer. I prefer milder and smother razors. I also prefer the .68 Game Changer to the .84 Game Changer. There are some forum members that find the Game Changer .84 smooth but they are the ones that like aggressive razors. Here is some images of both razors.

Thanks @Rhinehoth a nice informative comparison. For me the GC-84P is a daily razor even with a Feather and therefore the Masumane may be too mild for my preference.
