The general watch talk discussion

Not nearly as exciting but I’m considering an Orient Bambino.
Gen 2 version 2 its such a beautiful watch and just having the G shock has me a lil blue.

So, Seiko discontinued the SKX.
Off the back of this news I pulled the trigger on a used 007.

Every day we stray further from god.

Did you see the Seiko turtle posted on OzBargain over the weekend for $329? Good value if you like a Seiko dive watch.
Thought about it myself but realised I rarely wear the watches I already own these days.

The skxs rose in price quite considerably a few years back (not helped by the aud losing parity against the usd) so I never got around to buying one. You used to see both rubber and bracelet versions around $150-170, but I see on eBay they are $350+!

I was watching a used one on a rubber strap- it went for 290 yesterday, no box or anything!

I skipped the turtle as the case is kinda meh in my opinion..

Have to say I’m thrilled to have an SKX back in the collection, they are just a charming watch.
I’ve told my wife that next up is a Rolex Datejust with the fluted bezel.. she was not agreeable.

This has to be #1 enabler post @Rami
Unfortunately he’s 100% correct too..
I found a used one I like at $10k which now I catch myself saying “oh, that’s a bargain”
Perhaps if I tell the wife is really like the Patek but can settle...

Dj41? What dial you going for?
116234-BLKRFO is the reference I like... but the white face is a very close second..
Personally I’d probably go the 36mm.. feels more classic in that size in my opinion.

Mark.. please don’t do this to me.

On the speedy, hows it going? I was actually thinking while I fondled my skx that a seamaster would be perfectly acceptable.

Love my Speedy, a little bit of history. Become pretty much my daily watch.

Put it this way. Resale is not too bad so even if you have to let it go you would not loose too much and may even make some money.
