Sandalwood soaps or creams

Truefitt and Hill hard puck, is in my eyes a great great sandalwood scent very different to Proraso but excellent,
also if you want to spend the extra $$ get the Phoenix artisian Accouterments one its alot stronger scent and performs a bit better better then the Truefitt and Hill for lather but in saying that i own both and they are great in my eyes.

Geo f trumper do a nice cream, real talk prorasso is not bad for the money but it isn't a good soap in the scheme of things

agreed, proraso is a good starter but only one that's lasted with me is the green line
I find the performance to be okay but even for the money it isn't even that great really, I loved it initially but wow dosnt your world open when you try some stuff from local manufactures.

The art of Shaving sandalwood gets a bit of flack for price. But it is a HUGE tub of cream and I disagree that it's over priced. My favourite scented sandalwood, it's very boutique and performance is top notch. I also love Taylor of Old Bond Street sandalwood too. Another top favourite if you want a hard pick is Fine Santal Absolut (based on aforementioned AOS sandalwood) (y)
Happy shaving

The best of the whole lot is the AOS NOS 3 pucks deal on ebay (Brooklyn Vendor) which is what Fine try to imitate with their Santal. The new AOS sandalwood pucks are not tallow, never tried the cream.

I also like Trumpers Sandalwood, it's as close to Sandalwood as you can get without using real Sandalwood.

I love my Proraso Red! Besides the supermarket "Shave" brand cream it was the first real soap I purchased and I still find myself going back to it regularly - I may have to try some of the others mentioned here and educate myself on a good Sandalwood!

Premium and Artisan stuff isn't significantly better performance wise IMO. With the big names, you're definitely paying for the brand and its marketing.

With the arty stuff, I've found you pay more and get less - some of these soaps disappear real quick. At the other end, a DR Harris puck may outlast the cockroaches.

The scent of the Pro Red isn't that sandalwoody, so you'll also get nicer, more expensive smelling scents. With some sandalwood's, stronger scent isn't a good thing.

Oh yep. Thanks for the info! And the cream is absolutely beautiful mate. Better performance than my TOBS Sandalwood. Probably best performing cream i have

Man, DR Harris Sandalwood cream and the DR Harris Sandalwood splash are an awesome combination. I like Stirling Sandalwood and the Stirling Balm, another killer combo, Stirling is a bit light on with the scent, however, performance is great, OSP Sandalwood and Captains Choice Sandalwood are on my wishlist as well.
