Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Mycroft shaving soap
Aftershave Splash: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Mycroft splash

Cologne: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Mycroft EDP

One of the joys of the SOTD thread is reading other people's posts and getting inspired - I've copied using the Mycroft aft @Jase's mention yesterday, glad I did.

I'm not sure about the EDP though I admit. Even used lightly is quite strong. So disappointed I didn't get the Fougere Bourbon Rose EDP, now that would have been spectacular.

(Just to be clear, this is focussing on the 1% and ignoring the 99% amazing!)

Have a good week guys

Soap/Cream: SS Ad Astra

Ad Astra as per other Squadron Soaps lathered up wonderfully. The lemon lime scent came out while shaving and settled afterwards to the juniper scent(?) The Fat Boy was set to "4". I think my best shave setting with it is "5" but I just didn't feel like risking a few weepers this morning after a miserable night's sleep.

Hey Speedy. I'm wondering how that Bulldog Balm is, does it have a very shiny finish?

I've got the same balm. I like it as far a balms go - low scent and moisturising. I don't have either dry or oily skin and it always absorbs in well with a matt finish. All balms give me zits though and this is no exception. I don't know why... and all alcohol based splashes give me irritation. First world problems - sucks to be me!

Good morning @Benjamin the Bulldog aftershave balm doesn't give me the shiny finish if you don't rub it onto your skin properly it, and let it dry for a few minutes before applying your favourite fragrance........are you having problems with your Bulldog aftershave balm??

Have you tried pure witch hazel or pure Aloe Vera (as in straight from the plant)?

My friend was in the same boat as your and found a light splash of witch hazel and a dab of pure Aloe Vera worked great for him.

I've tried witch hazel followed by a rinse but still got the zits. Although it deserves another go - it wasn't a long run and may have been coincidence. Haven't tried Aloe Vera but it would seem to be more likely to cause issues than WH.

What works best is a re-lather with whatever I shaved with while I put everything away, followed by a cold rinse. There has never been any issue with that and it's so easy that I stopped experimenting with alternatives...
