I’ve been playing with crypto a bit lately as my shares arnt particularly fun to watch, any of you guys in it?

I have some friends who are obsessed and even in the process of making their own.

But, I've not got enough cash to risk. So, I dare not.

At low amounts it’s fun, at high amounts it could be REALLY fun... but then really sad.

Etherium is kicking butt currently :)

Nope, too much debt. I do find your language interesting, most people when they talk about crypto's and cfd's and the horse racing try to make it sound like an investment that won't fail or the way of the future. You have made it sound like it is a form of gambling/entertainment.

Honestly that’s how I see it, there’s every chance it will fall in a heap, it’s very volatile so I don’t bet the farm on it but that can make it fun.
That said etherium is up over 52% in the last week.

Trust me. The minute I invest the whole bottom will drop out. You don’t want me involved.
You won’t be saying that when you see me, driving my speed boat around the moat of my castle.

My wife and I put a few large into some Ethereum and Ripple about a month back.
Almost tripled in value.
I dont think Bitcoin is worth dropping any into.

Yeah I wouldn’t touch Bitcoin currently, that said it will be interesting to see how bitcoin cash goes, boy oh boy what a mess it was when they started offering it on coin base lol

I do regret not buying 1 bitcoin about 5 years ago for circa $800-$900!
But then in some ways, i regret not putting all my crypto eggs in one basket a month ago (aka Ripple when it was $0.30.
If i did, id have turned $4k into $37k - D'oh!!!

Well sort of @Ferret619 . Not exactly crypto but kryptonite is my weakness.

I don't trade BTC but I hodl some. A few of my overseas client pay me in BTC. It saves them a small fortune in international bank transfers.

One thing, amongst many, that you have to be careful of with crypto is to make sure that you plan for it to be available to your estate after you die.

My only contact was back when Bitcoin was first minted, and I had a lot of spare CPU cycles available, so purely as an exercise I set up a machine to mine a couple of coins without ever concerning myself as to their "value". A few years later, I made a tidy killing on them. But that's not to say I consider crypto to be a good investment. Back then, coins didn't need so much time/energy to generate. If you are buying currency, remember that 1 coin always equals 1 coin (ie its only yardstick for value is itself) so there are good grounds to consider it "pretend" money. It can still spend, but don't make the mistake of calling it an investment.
