A nice shave today, early in the morning (I feel I could shave again) with my most used soap of 2017, CdV

yeah... great shave mates! I am also finally dialing with the brush :)

Razor: Vintage Wilkinson Sword 'Sticky'
Blade: Vintage Wilkinson Sword Premium Chromium blade (3)
Brush: Tony Forsyth PC LE Platypus shaving brush
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Lightning Ridge Shave Soap
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Lightning Ridge Aftershave
Cologne: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Lightning Ridge EDP

OK, so maybe the 'lightning' is more apt than the cooling summer menthol -

Not an inspiring start for the great Canberra January 2018 Meet Up - on the lake! ...

But we are not fair weather sailors down here in the nation's [shaving] capital - the show must go on! Anyway, it should be clearing this afternoon -

Will need to confirm with @the_shaving_sailor that boats still float while raining.

Razor: aristocrat JR
Blade: feather
Soap: MWF
Brush: Omega pig master hehe

I have been too hash on boar brushes and they do make a lather better than a rock..

Between Omega watches and brushes there seems to be a significant quality gap.

Still not sure with this razor its just to aggressive for my face. I got away with only one tiny weeper today but the splash stung a lot. The end result is bbs but if i use it on a daily basis my face ends up red raw after a couple of days so it is a weekend razor for me when i get time to slow down and concentrate on what im doing.

Soap: Nettle n Neem II
Brush: 26mm TF MHW
Razor: Gem Junior (compliments of @Ferret619 )
Blade: GEM (1)
Post: Jojoba Oil
Well that was different. A bit like trying to shave with one of my wife's alligator hair clips on a stick. Felt it was a surprisingly good shave early this morning, I would've said DFS with minimal effort and clean up. Nice audible feedback as @Snooze said. Just an easy throw it round your face shave. But a few hours later and I'm feeling the shadow return. So nice shave and it'll happily get a run amongst the rotation but I'm not about to go crazy on a GEM collection. Then again, now I've got the blades.........
The NnN soap was creeaamy (see NnN II post for lather shot). Nice to see it hasn't lost it's slickness from original batch. Just got to deal with the scent, you still gotta love neem to love this soap.

Aww c’mon man, ya tellin’ me ya don’t own a hemp shirt!?:)

Absolutely not.

Nor do I favour the 'long haired look', 'denim shorts', 'alternative lifestyles' or partake in 'jazz cabbage' or whatever the kids are calling it now-days. And don't get me started on those 'disco' coloured brush handles :D

The smell of nettle...maybe, the smell of neem though...I don't think I could go there.

What blades have you tried? The Kai Captain Mild is probably milder than the Schick and the mildest is the Feather ProGuard. I haven't actually used those in the General as I find the General mild and use Feather Pro Supers in it. I used every AC style blade I could get my hands on for the Asylum Rx as I find it aggressive and I was trying to tone it down. Have you found the aggression more manageable after first blade use? I find with the Asylum I have to watch the first shave then it's milder with subsequent shaves.
