Big thank you to @Korbz for sending me his Rex to test drive. First impressions are very positive. Absolutely love the look of it, extremely well made. Had a fiddle with a few different settings through the shave and was quite surprised to find it not as aggressive as what i was expecting. Setting 6 is definitely useable without slicing ones throat and i always lean towards mild razors. All in all it was a very smooth, comfortable and enjoyable shave.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lotus Select Badger
Soap: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
Razor: UFO Tornado / ATT R2
Blade: NOS Gillette Platinum Plus
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel / Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: Amouage Jubilation XXV

Dialed back to the R2 plate for this shave. Three passes and a couple of touch-ups for another BBS. The ATT open comb plates are very efficient.
I enjoyed the King of Oud scent. It is a slightly sweet and approachable Oud, and very comforting for a chilly Perth evening.
Finished with a few sprays of a decant I have of Amouage Jubilation XXV.

Razor: Vintage NEW head on TSW Bren handle
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkinson Sword blade (7)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Rooney boar/badger combinationn brush
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) P&C Limited Edition Syke Fall shaving soap
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) P&C Limited Edition Syke Fall splash
Fragrance: Australian Private Reserve (APR) P&C Limited Edition Syke Fall EDT

soooo nice

One word for this Skye Fall shave. Superb. Enough said. Although I must quote my daughter. This was said post shave, whilst getting her ready for ballet. "What's that nice smell?". Compliments from a 4 year old @todras.

AP Reserve SkyeFall Soap/Splash/EdT

Wow awesome. It's like shaving with a glass of Lagavulin.

The splash I did not find as peaty as the soap and EdT. Which I like.

The misses scrunched her nose up at it, which is a shame but I'm hoping it will grow on her.

A question for the Fenchurch users that got this one. Is the whiskey note in Fenchurch peaty like this?

Semogue Boar, Mitchells Wool Fat, Bengall, Witch Hazel, Nivea Men, Viet Fougere, Oud Attar
Archive pic because kids+phone=not worth the hassle. Ran the Bengall over the barbers hone with lather, then 0.25 micron pasted linen and a good stropping.Nice and sharp with no problems taking down a couple of days stubble growth. No matter how good this blade is I always get a bit of tug on chin and top lip area, even with a quick strop before attacking after I have done my cheeks and throat/neck,more so on the chin. Not a "blunt" type of tug, just those areas I notice are not as smooth and the shavette with Polsilver have no problems, but with the Bengall and even when I was using the Filarmonica it just feels a bit rough.I persevere yet it takes some time and feels like I will end up with some burn but I actually don't.Putting it down to technique needs more work although it is improving.
Just have to keep going.

Pre: my lemon Myrtle pre shave oil
Progress w/Polsilver
WSP Silvertip
Soap Commander Courage
Anherb balm

Damn it! Another artisan soap that has basically lost most of its scent in under two years! I've had so many artisan soaps lose their scent whereas my several year old hard pucks are like their original state! Grrrrrr!!

The WSP silvertip is excellent! It's so dense and in its natural state...not bleached to give gel tips etc. I prefer unbleached badger brushes. It's got a lovely fan shape with great splay and the density gives a very enjoyable face feel.

My big 6oz plastic tub of Courage still going and smells awesome (I just checked). I haven't used it in ages though. It's brother Vision seems to have matured and lost a bit of oomph.

First shave with the APR Ozymandias today. Quality shave, still smell it on myself 15 hours later.

There's no rhyme or reason as to which soaps are losing their scent. Basically, any brand is at risk from my experience. I only regard my hard soaps relatively safe from this phenomena.

I'm extremely pedantic with my soaps. I never bloom any soap, I never take a very wet brush to the soap, I wipe off every last bit of proto lather and even then leave it open to fully dry so I'm very disappointed that yet another soap has lost its scent :(
