I get the same.Naaa I understood what you meant. I dunno what I was doing wrong, but I was getting 22 dollars shipping on just the single complete razor.

I have a bit of bad news for those of you with pending orders. I leave for holidays on Friday (June 29 to July 15 inclusive), and while I’ve been working my hardest to get the pending orders out before I go, I haven’t been able to catch up.

Well, at least he said *that* much... He could have just not said anything.Communication is not really a strong point is it.
In Rockwell 6s, Rockwell 6c, and the Karve razors, the base-plates define the mildness/efficiency of the shave. They are the solid chunck of metal that the blade sits on. Change its profile and the blade will bend or be exposed accordingly. This greatly affects the shave. Can anyone explain to me what base plates are and what the numbers mean? I'm starting to get into new DE razors that have different base plates but I want to know the details of what they do before I get one or a few.
Thanks for the info @lerenau that makes sense. I had a funny feeling the baseplates change the mildness and aggressiveness of the razor. This behaves very similarly to the dial on the Gillette Slim and Fatboy.
Lower numbers signify a milder shave. Higher numbers signify a more aggressive/efficient shave.
This makes the razor configurable (vs true adjustable like the Gillettes).
The downside: is that it takes some jiggering to change the configuration.
The upside: is 'no moving parts' - In the case of the 6s and Karve, they will likely outlive you.
I hope this helps.
I had my first shave with D plate and the shave was super smooth, efficient but I found slight blade feel shaving ATG so I might get the C plate, just to be safe. Don't like the blade over hang but it's a well made, light razor head and well worth the hype - Happy shaves!Oh man, your initial impression has got me worried!
If D is smoother than R6, but more efficient, maybe I should have opted D but I went with the C. Oh well, let's see how I go.

I still believe the safe bet is C plate if you're after a super smooth, efficient shave on par with the 6S on R4-R6 platesI ended up ordering the karve with c plate in the end.
From the many, many reviews I read, I suspected D plate would be too much for my skin.

How does the D plate compare to the R41 or Timeless Bronze OC?I had my first shave with D plate and the shave was super smooth, efficient but I found slight blade feel shaving ATG so I might get the C plate, just to be safe.
