Super cool idea @todras !!!
We better meet after-work for a beer so we can claim a Tassie meet-up.

I have nothing else meaningful to add. The G&T, citrus notes sounds good to me.

The suggestion of hops is interesting, there is a huge variety of what hops can smell like; citrus, spice, earthy, and herbal are the main axis, but there is massive variation.

That reminds me better go dry hop my brew. Using Wai iti hops from NZ low bitterness with lemon, mandarin, last me zest.

That's something we absolutely have to do. First of all meet one day soon, then have a couple of pints, and after that, figure out maybe a hoppy sour-dark orange, mandarin with some wood resting on the base layer.... :)

cheers

Ok here goes.
Thinking something like "Distilled Christmas or Dis still Christmas".
Some of the softer fruit scents for want of an uneducated guess.
Roasted pineapple
Grapefruit
Lychee
Apricot
Frangipani
Honeysuckle
Ginger
Smokey vanilla (very light)
And G&T lots of G&T as suggested above

Monsta Intensa is currently private reserve though, I had a fleeting idea that I might do it for Christmas but I have done around 30 mods of it and I am certain it still needs things here and there before I am comfortable giving it to you. Lemon Myrtle is very high impact, it takes the nuance from a lot of other notes in a fragrance which while not always being a bad thing makes things deterministic, it knocks out a lot of pathways open without using it in a composition.

I am working with a new macrocyclic musk from Japan for M intensa along with some other new compounds that impart incredible diffusive effects on Lemon Myrtle (and other notes) when micro dosed. I will go into it in much more detail when we next have the opportunity to catch up, it's looking really quite promising and it has really provided some finesse and refinement to the original.
I've heard Mosta discuss wh passion the direction he desires this to go and am interested in the end result myself.
Be interesting to see what eventuates.

Very thoughtful @todras for organising to spend your spare time creating a splash for us to whack on our mugs!

I don’t ever recall seeing a Melbourne meetup since joining here but would do my best to attend of course. I like reading about the other state meetups when held!

I’m probably terrible at “designing” a scent but I like the possibility of menthol added, perhaps recreating a Moscow Mule would be nice: ginger, lime and mint?

I’d call it Mangrove Mule. I’ve always considered mangroves to be typically Aussie (but may be wrong).

Thanks again for your offer to add the Christmas cheer to a lucky few!

Hey there @tim33z we just might have to organise a meet for the Melb Crew - an intro and a few beverages....

For my 2c
If g&t is the go, I hope it has that cucumber fresh scent.

Lemon and lime are meh.
A nice mandarin might also be nice.
Agree as normal G&T aftershaves are done a dozen ways with lemon & lime but not having a complex scent like a rich botanical gin with floral sweetness, tart, herbaceous earth or woods.
But thankfully (in many ways) we are the luckiest sons of ... Because @todras wouldn't just give you a general slap in the face menthol (hint) limey lemonade soda with a dash of juniper affair.
He'll be getting off the bus early and head down to Gin Lane to research the upper echelon of the finest Australian Gin for inspiration...

But then again he doesn't need to as this is a gift and everyone is too busy nearing year's end. So I'd just be happy to get an awesome splash whatever the scent. (y):)

@LukehGee what about that bar.

This is the sort of thing that brought me to P&C small producers who are mates with their customers collaborating together forbwhat is an outrageous gift.

Haven't attended a meetup but would like to throw some ideas in the mix nonetheless.

I thought "Chasing Shade" would be a good name given our Christmas weather.

As for scents I kept coming back to the fresh scents you might find at a bbq in the bush

-hops from a beer
-cucumber and lemon from the salad
- (don't know if you could add wood notes for the gum trees)
-hint of eucalyptus
- lemon myrtle/ wattle

Ill send you my bottle you good bastard as a Christmas present - I've got way too much splash as it is.

Thanks you Cheeky bastard! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I'll through my 2 cents in. I like the idea of G&T with some lemon/lime, cucumber or something along those lines. Since the aftershave is being released for Christmas, maybe throwing in pine or cranberry for that seasonal touch

Also, what about something inspired by one of the Polo colognes (Red, Blue, Green or Black). Creed Silver Mountain Water or Creed Virgin Island Water? Both of those colognes are wonderful for spring/summer. Definetly don't skip on the menthol, baby :hungry::hungry:

Some interesting ideas no doubt, thanks everyone for your input :)

I have finished the formulation and will test the mods this weekend when I get a little time, the splash will be ready in a couple of weeks to be posted and each bottle will come with a 5ml EDT travel pack. The menthol dose will be light (lighter than Velours Noir), people are free to add their own menthol if they want - completely their own choice. I will post the composition notes once I have finalised them.

Now what needs to happen is one person from each state needs to agree to receive the splashes, and this needs to be organised among yourselves including NSW as it is unlikely I will be able to make a meetup for the next couple of months at least. When everyone decides who is receiving the splashes post in this thread and I will contact you to get an address - let's do this simply and easily without any fuss. I am happy to meet the postage costs too if people can't agree, the last thing I want is any mucking around or hassle whatsoever over this :)

This years Christmas splash will be called 'Festivus' as I find it amusing.
