ARKO!
Platypus 26mm fan
Proraso Green ASB

Another excellent shave. 3 ATG passes, almost BBS with zero irritation. This razor is useless to me with any other blade and this blade is useless to me in any other razor. But together they are magic! Shaving is definitely a black art... The Arko lather was just divine and the brush was great, although the tendency of badgers to retain more lather than boars remains annoying by the end of the shave.

I'm not getting the drying effects of Arko like I used to - that could be because it's summer, I'm adding more water these days or that it's an old stick with much less scent and one of those scent chemicals was to blame. Either way, I'm loving it now! Previously the scent was just overpowering but now it's fine... My tub of Cella has done the same actually - started out way too strong and sweet but has mellowed nicely.

See all you haters!

It is merely a matter of persistence :)

Welcome to the Lemon Side @RazorPlay - May the ARKO! be with you

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, I have been experiencing a bit of tingling on my face this morning... need to try without the balm tomorrow to see whether it's something in the ARKO! My face isn't used to either the balm or the ARKO!

Didn't have any issue with my Arko sticks grated into my tub.

Pre-Shave: Kiss my Face Olive Oil Soap, cold water
Razor: B&R Adjustable (2/1)
Blade: Ladas (1)
Brush: Doug Korn D7 Turquoise
Lather: APR Bombora
Post-Shave: Alum, Thayers Original Alcohol Free Witch Hazel, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
What a divine shave with the B&R adjustable today. Seems I found the sweet spot for my face and the result was an absolute super smooth and very happy face.

The stellar APR lather certainly helped and led to an overall perfect experience.

I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday (y)

Pre-shave: Proraso Green Tea & Oatmeal Pre/Post cream
Brush: Vie Long Epsilon 2015 LE Horse
Soap/Cream: Derby
Razor: PAA Starling V2 A plate
Blade: Gem SS PTFE (2)
Post-shave: Alum block, Witch Hazel, Proraso liquid after shave cream, Myrsol Formula C
Hair Tonic: Pashana Eau de Quinine

The first time I have used the Epsilon 2015 LE and the most outstanding feature is the incredible backbone. I've never used a brush with backbone anything like this! As for the Starling I'm still not convinced its a keeper.

Pre: Hot towel, Crew oil
Razor: Rockwell 6S (4)
Blade: Kai
Bowl: Handmade bowl, Mk2
Brush: RazoRock Silvertip Synthetic
Soap: Squadron Red Lead
Post: Old Spice

KarveD w/Polsilver
Yaqi two band finest
Pbgoose Brazilian Bay Thyme soap
Gaia ASB

Pbgoose soap is fantastic! Very rich, very creamy lather. I did overload so had to add a lot of water and the end result was a brilliant shiny lather. Very happy!!

Used the same brush as yesterday as I had a feeling it wasn't fully broken in but today's use, it felt much more like a broken in two band should...a dense wall of badger hair with good splay and soft tips...perfect!!

Pre-shave: Warm water
Brush: Sam & Son silvertip
Soap/Cream: TOBS Eton College
Razor: 6S (R2)
Blade: Polsilver Red (1)
Post-shave: Nivea sensitive aftershave splash

It’s been a few months since I last used TOBS and I had forgotten just how much I like it. I’ll have to make sure I pick up another tub before this one runs out

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Boar
Soap: La Toja
Razor: ATT SE1 / UFO Tornado
Blade: Schick Proline P-30 (4)
Post: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Witch Hazel, CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: Alvarez Gomez Barbaria

One of those iconic soaps that I was always gonna get around to trying, but hadn't as yet. Well, I can tick this one off, and what an impressive soap.
I loaded the stick to my wet face for about 30 seconds as per normal for me, and slowly added water as I lathered. Very easy to generate lather, and a subtle clean scent.
Performance was very good, nice razor glide and slickness. The lather was dissipating a little at the back end of the 3rd pass, but this may have been due to underloading.
Three passes for a very comfortable BBS result. Post shave was pleasant; not quite as moisturising as some of my best soaps.
Clearly a soap that deserves its reputation, and a bargain at the price.

Prep: Shower
Brush: Paladin Shaving - Chief in Graphite - 28mm (2CLND3)
Razor: Anodized Aluminum Wolfman WR-1DC on WRH-2 (Black & Purple)
Blade: Polsilver SI
Lather: Chatillon Lux/Tallow + Steel - Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli - Soap
Post Shave: Chatillon Lux - Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli - Aftershave
Fragrance: Chatillon Lux - Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli - Eau de Toilette

Going to be switching out APR Fresca, CL/T+S YRP & CL/T+S VP until these 3 tubs are killed. VP & Fresca I can already see the bottom of the tubs so should go by quickly. Famous last words.

First go with the Paladin this morning. When I first pulled the brush out, I immediately knew this brush was going to be good. Extremely soft tips and a good amount of backbone. The 2CLND3 reminds me of Declaration Grooming B2 hair but with more backbone, which is a great match for me. I wasn't a huge fan of B2 due to the lack of backbone and thus I've sold my previous brushes. Graphite resin is pretty killer too and pictures don't do it justice. The only other Paladin I've purchased was a 26mm 2CSLH4 and that knot, I'll be it soft, was just not dense or big enough for my taste. I'll say I'm not a huge fan of Paladins prices for brushes this size. Thankfully, I purchased this brush on the BST for almost half of the retail cost. Hell of a steal if you ask me. This brush I forsee staying in my den for some time.
