October is the tenth month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian Calendars and the sixth of seven months to have a length of 31 days.

October's birthstones are the tourmaline and opal and birth flower is the calendula.

But who cares about that - jsut post your shaving acquisitions here - with pics if possible!

Birthyear 1966 Gillette Slim L1
Purchased in September but arrived in the post today
This is the 3rd in the den - I gratefully thank @Mark1966 for enabling this minor obsession. I didn't think something the same age as myself could be functional after 50+ years
Bought from a 2nd hand shop on the Bay (not restored) and just arrived from USA with free soap scum, looks like it will clean up a treat

Haven’t we all got a little scum attached at this age?

Nice pickup mate. Enjoy

My local antiques store shut down this weekend so I pooped in to check if there were any final bargains to be had. Here's the haul:

1. Gillette Valet Auto strop

2. Ever Ready

3. Gillette shaving brush

4. The Piece de resistance. And a self nomination for acquisition of the year

Christy Ash Tray Shaving soap:

I think that someone forgot to use the soap first though:

You better scrape the dirty mold off the soap puck before you start using it.

You can used the mouldy soap to clean your hairy smelly butt after you’ve been to the toilet.

Sometimes when you find a $10 1948 English Aristocrat in the wild you also find a great condition case on eBay for $130 delivered from the UK that you just can't not buy...

Anyone have a correct blade bank??
I was lucky enough to see this personally when @Greenpike and I had a mini-meetup yesterday - it is absolutely stunning.

I've been wanting some Squadron for a while now. Local Aussie product, good price, matching sets and good reviews. Every time I look on the website at least one is out of stock.
Andy reserved a set each of Red Lead and Scramble along with a Warden soap and allowed pre-order on the Warden Aftershave allowing me to fill the cart with a set of each. Happy shaves ahead
T/H @SchoolForAnts for excellent customer service. You made this customer very happy (y) :) (y)

Great stuff Jeff, you won’t be disappointed

Some Hungarian budget aftershave... Not stopped at the border... but label destroyed by tape to prevent leaks...

Also... some Avon acquisitions from yesterday's hunting. That's a Clint, Spicy and Tai Winds...

The Avon collection of juice is getting a little silly. But I love the juice.

What a month of finds...

First up, for $35...

Its clearly silver plated looking at the tarnish. Any suggestions of what it might be before I clean?

I also grabbed 20 packets of these beauties for $50...

And a 7 o'clock for $20. Didn't notice the bent teeth as I was hyperventilating about the silver razor...

So, I'd love verdicts on the prices I paid.

That Aristocrat #15, assuming Made in England is a definite score for $35! Baking Soda and Aluminum should bring it back nicely if silver plated !
