Last night, sort of as we fly out at 10pm, in Europe. Visited Antwerp yesterday and Haarlem today, Haarlem is a great little town on the outskirts of Amsterdam -

We started the day at the Corrie Ten Boom House, think Anne Frank House but far less commercial -

Ended at the Molen de Adriaan, a reconstructed version of the windmill on the sire destroyed by fire in 1932 -

Tonight, for me at least as I think that the family will play it safe, is pheasant (Roasted Pheasant (1/2) and confit leg with honey sauce, truffle sauerkraut, Alkmaar barley with truffle) at the restaurant where I had the horse meet stew last time I was in Amsterdam, Greetje.

This sample pot from the last Perth GTG is meant to be a cream but it’s all croap to me. It takes awhile to load as per most samples but yields a nice thick and cushioning lather. Slickness and post shave is average but fine really.

Scent is hard to pick off the sample but to me it has some citrus / geraniol in it. Fortunately when lathered this disappeared, which is a welcome relief for me from what is usually an olfactory overload with most modern soaps.

While thickness is excellent and longevity seems similar, this one doesn’t do enough for me to want more once this sample is finished...

Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
Razor: RR GC .84P
Blade: Gillette Nacet (2)
Pre: Shower
Bowl: Pereira's Destructible Shaving Bowl
Soap: Squadron Soap Red Lead
Post: Thayers Aloe & Lemon Witch Hazel // Old Spice splash

The first shave for 2020 and what an enjoyable BBS! Its easy to see why the Game Changer gets so much praise as its such a smooth yet efficient ''daily shaver.'' Lots of positives - quality finish, shorter handle and lack of blade over hang make this a happy addition to the den!!! Top notch soap/scent with no real need for a balm as the skin feels nice :)

Stay safe in these troubling times and here's hoping the weather can bring some much needed rain as its miserable for a lot of people across this dry land of ours. Not the start to the morning I was hoping for...

Soap: Declaration Milksteak sample - Todras PIF
Brush: Vie Long Horse/Badger
Razor: Leaf
Blades: Gillette Red
Declaration Milksteak performed well but the Leaf isn't much of a test, it doesn't take much lather to let the Leaf do it's job and it performs better with a thinner wetter lather.
About time I put some razors away.

Sunday SOTD 5/1/2020

Pre: Swim, Cool Shower, BBA Shave Oil
Cream: Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe
Brush: Yaqi Moka Two Band Badger
Razor: Yaqi Slant Open Comb
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)
Post: Floid AS Splash

As a fan of shaves that are a little upwards of mild I decided to order this razor from Yaqi and give it a spin. It is described on their AU website as an "aggressive" implement suited to "skilled hands only". Not doubting my technique but with the words of the "fools and angels' proverb very much at the forefront of my thinking, I opted to choke back from a brand new Feather and pair it with a brand new Polsilver instead.
This is an efficient razor for sure, an easy 3 pass super smooth shave was achieved with no irritation and I was a happy boy!

Have a Great Week All!

Pre: soaking bath and hot face flannel & beard oil
Razor: Parthenon adjustable TTO (setting 4)
Blade: Feather (5) Nasty ass bloody blade...grrr...all my fault, I forgot not a good razor/blade combo let alone on it's 5th shave. Very irritated shave and 1 weepeer, damn my difficult spot on my neck is so sore.
Soap: TOBS sandalwood
Brush: Synth Silvertip noname
Post: bit of alum dabbing repeatedly and 2 splashes with witch hazel & tea tree, followed with a bit of aloe.

Not a good shave, and think tomorrow I may skip a shave to let things settle down a bit.
