Hey everyone,
Just wanted to say gday to everyone out there. I’ve been sniffing around these forums for quite a while now and I’ve finally joined up.

I’ve been DE shaving for about a year now and honestly really enjoy it. Until I got into shaving with a DE I would go weeks without a shave and then have to hack it all off with an electric. I love the soaps and love the journey that each scent and artisan takes me on.

Really enjoying Noble Otter, Barrister and Mann, APR and I have a few nice soaps from Phoenix and beau also.

I’ve got a small collection of razors and my absolute favourites that I just can’t stop using is my blackland blackbird closes comb. Thing is an absolute lawn mower. Doesn’t matter how much growth I’ve got - it’s basically 2 passes and it’s a bbs. I’ve also got a Karve with b plates in both the oc and cc for when I shave more regularly.
It’s been a fun journey so far, and I’m completely falling through the rabbit hole (new products coming this week and spend so much time finding my next purchase). Can’t wait to continue this journey and finding great quality products.

Welcome to P&C @Markyv - great to have you here (y)

Welcome @Markyv

Sounds all very positive really - now what can we tempt you with ...

Welcome @Markyv !

I also really enjoy the soaps you mentioned but still haven’t tried Phoenix and Beau. Raconteur from APR is a fantastic cold weather scent I’ve been enjoying

That’s great to hear you’re loving your Blackbird. If you like the efficiency I’d highly recommend you pickup a Muhle R41 head and the G plate from Karve.

What do you have for brushes?

Welcome Markyv ,

A common story from many of us I think and surprising how many of us hated shaving but now really enjoy and look forward to it even. It's normally the highlight of my day now.

True, very true, but ...

You really need to get out more! :ROFLMAO:

So I’ve got a few yaqi synths which do the job and value for money is inpressive. Got a nice Vie-long silver tip with the red and white marble look handle. Love it, but man it’s a shedder!
just picked up a semogue in finest badger (currently isn’t he mail).

Hopefully that Vie-long stabilizes and doesn’t give up any more hairs but I think you’ll love that Semogue Finest. Let us know what you think when you get it!

Welcome @Markyv sounds like you are well and truly hooked.
Which rabbit hole next Str8, SE, Vintage?

Hook line and sinker mate. I’ve got a few vintage razors (slim adjustable and a new type oc) also in the den but done use them too often. I’ve owned a fat boy and a black beauty also but sold them again just because I wasn’t using them enough.

Currently looking into a blackland vector which just came back into stock in polished. So I guess SE is probably the next one 😂

I really hope so also but it just doesn’t seem to stop. I thought after first couple uses that yep it will eventually stop but I’ve now had it for about a year and probably used it around 30 times.
Semogue should be here before the end of the week 😁

I know it sounds weird but I’ve had luck stopping shedding by using hair conditioner on some of my brushes after using them. When I’m done and they’re rinsed and damp, I just put a good amount of conditioner and let it sit for half an hour and then rinse and let dry.

I’ve heard great things about the Vector but for the price I’m waiting for the Razorock SS Hawk Version 3 from Italian Barber since it’ll probably be 1/3 the price.
