...and again. NPN.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow Pony
Soap/Cream: Stirling Bergamot Lavender
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Kai PINK
Post-shave: Shower, TND witch hazel, homebrew moisturiser

It might be boring to post this as an SOTD, but it really wouldn't be much of a hardship if I was stuck with this setup for the rest of my days.

Pre-shave: Hot Shower
Brush: Yaqi - Ivory 30mm Boss knot
Soap/Cream: PAA - Old Salty
Razor: Muhle - Rocca R94
Blade: Gillette - Minora Stainless (16)
Post-shave: PAA - Old Salty AS Cologne / Nivea Men - Creme
2 pass WTG daily shave = DFS+.

I am almost a week behind in sotd posts.

Another great shave. Very fond of this soap and splash.(y) Super strong on the scent. This one's based on Swedish Dream sea salt soap.
24 hours later, and it took a shower to refresh myself of the fragrance.

Interested to hear your thoughts about the Boss knot. Is it very different from (say) the Pony?

Pre-shave: Hot Shower
Brush: DSC - black/white 24mm tuxedo
Soap/Cream: Wolfpac - Morning Glory
Razor: Muhle - Rocca R94
Blade: Gillette - Minora Stainless (17)
Post-shave: TN Dickinsons - Witch Hazel / Nivea Men - Creme

2 pass WTG daily shave = DFS+. Last time I shaved with Wolfpac soap was when they were still in business. Sadly no more. Such a shame, as the soap produces exceptional lather.

It's the same as a tuxedo knot, except it has black strands at the top and a dark brown tinge to the synthetic hairs at the base of the knot.

Pre-shave: Hot Shower
Brush: DSC - black/white 24mm tuxedo
Soap/Cream: Moon Soaps - Sorrento
Razor: Muhle - Rocca R94
Blade: Gillette - Minora Stainless (18)
Post-shave: Lucky Tiger - AS face tonic / Moon Soaps - Sorrento PS balm

3 pass WTG XTG ATG = BBS. Took some manipulation of my face as the razor is great for daily shaves, more difficult for BBS due to my facial contours. Blade is still smooth, and sharp. No irritation or weepers. Pretty impressed that a blade with 18 shaves on it can still perform a BBS shave. Downside is, I wasn't able to shave the next day as there was practically nothing to shave.

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Brush: @Tony Forsyth P&C LE Platypus brush
Soap/Cream: B&M Petrichor soap
Razor: Vintage (replated) Gillette 'Fatboy' (6)
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkinson Sword (5)
Post-shave: B&M Petrichor splash
Fragrance: N/A

Incredible scent on this soap and splash

Pre: Hot shower
Brush: TF Woodrot & Rhodium
Soap: Crown King, The Kiss
Razor: Rockwell 6S Plate 3
Blade: Gillette, old vintage? (2)
Post: Alum block
Fragrance: Crown King, The Kiss Aftershave

Still using the Rockwell 6S with a 3 pass on plate 3, I'm still liking that a lot. Smooth, close, and no nicks.
My 20yr old daughter says I smell like like lollies with that scent. It really is nice!

These doggie-bowls never fail to impress with just how fast they can generate an enormous amount of sumptuous lather...

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Brush: TF Custom/26mm Oumo SHD LotusTip
Soap/Cream: Squadron Sweetheart
Razor: Smart-Helix Apollo Light (Aggr. plate)
Blade: Gillette Minora (1)
Post-shave: Alum block, Pinaud Clubman musk
First run in the Apollo with a Minora and boyohboy did it shine. The Apollo really highlights the sharpness and smoothness of this blade.
The Squadron soap is on it's last legs and seems to be getting creamier, the resultant shave was DFS+.

Well tonight wanted to report on the new kit.
Firstly the Merkur Progress Short Handle. Had a couple goes and wanted to report on it’s progress tonight. It demands some respect, with the grain she is as sweet as it gets. Against the grain it can bite it did tonight, on the usual place the chin. Anyway practice makes perfect so will soldier on with it this week. I put a new blade in it tonight so more noticeable from a cutting point. I think if I was to go ahead with getting one I’d go the long handle but it was my choice to start with the short. I had her dialled up and down but at this point have what I think is the right point +2 & half. As for the overall the weight I have found is good in balance and weight, get it right and she runs smoothly in each pass. Would I attempt a neck pass no it would at this point be a blood bath. A BIG thanks to Damian Eynon-Williams Stay tuned.
Now the Oumo Synthetic Cashmere knot 25mm. set in the David James SxD Custom Handle. Well I have to say that Synthetic knots have obviously in the last 12 months had some modifications and upgrade made to them. This knot from David Richardson of www.thewetshavingco.com

was one of 3 and it’s a new composite I believe. I had to do some honing of the handle to set it as the it was an opening of 24mm. I’m happy to say it went well handle and knot are doing well. But on a serious note the knot I can say really like my other knot recently acquired really has a lot more backbone then anything I previously remember and comparing it to my PAA Starcraft which I have loved that feels floppy against these new breeds. The application of lather has always been noted highly with Synthetic but now is off the chart, with no effort. I would say with the options one has to day take a look on www.thewetshavingco.com

pick a knot and marry it to a handle either from David Richardson or go out and ask David James of SxD to customize you a handle and he will specifically customize to your requirements and taste.

SOTN
Fine Sandlewood
Merkur Progress Adjustable
Super Max – Blue Diamond
Semogue Owners Club boar
Well tonight redialled the Progress to a flat 2.5 setting a lot better smoother more comfortable and close clean shave. Even practiced my neck pass and without incident. So we move on to another day tomorrow. Finally think I’m finding how & where to get the angle and setting in my zone.

Just about got the Meth Soap Lab complete. Just the upright cooker to go this end of the kitchen bench. Unfortunately it probably won't get to fire a shot in anger for a few months yet as we're about to move into the shed with the house being renovated and this will be our kitchen (I know, we'll be doing it tough right:)). So by the time I put some pantry cupboards, a fridge, table and chairs there won't be much room for soap making. The stainless bench was a score, being a Hungry Jacks reject. It had a nasty hole cut in the bench top so I recut the hole for a laundry tub sink and it's ready to go.
I made the carcass's for the kitchen cupboards (with some help from my builder who own's a table saw) and had the benchtop and doors made.
That's my first real crack at tiling, made a whole lot easier with 600x300 tiles. Floor is expoxyed.

First day of the holidays, the kids were at school and the wife was working. Yes, the stars aligned. I had three days of growth and the open comb just ploughed through. 3 delightful passes later I was happy as.
