SYD Next meetup???????

There will also be a LE APR fragrance for the occasion too that I will give away, something simple and zesty with lots of menth and Lemon Myrtle as a tribute to the previously unrealised, uncultivated pure comedic genius come Sysadmin that is @Monsta_AU .... I'm thinking at this point I will call it either'Camper', 'Wall-y Script' or 'KDR' but I am undecided... all of which are CS references, just in case the older blokes amongst you are puzzled why I am considering those names. :coffee:

Well, it seems you are enjoying your new banner :ROFLMAO:

A lot of pubs have function rooms upstairs which they will let us use "gratis" as we will probably use the bar/food facilities. I know of several along Victoria Rd at Drummoyne, Balmain, Hunters Hill if this suits.
This may be better than the Krispy Kreme dining room in Auburnon with drive-by...I mean drive thru...

A nice gourmet pub in Balmain sounds like just the ticket, a Saturday afternoon would suit me best of all but there is some flexibility in this regard. It would be a nice place for everyone to get some lunch and we could have a show and tell.

Count me in

How about Saturday 4th or 11th February at 2pm in pub around Balmain area?

Saturday February 11th at 1 or 2pm works perfectly for me and I can attend for at least 2 hours or so possibly longer. I'd like to grab some lunch and have a chat with you all.

I'm happy for us to just arrange it and meet informally as it has gone on for weeks and weeks in NSW with little to no commitment or organisation. I will bring the APR range along with the Monsta Myrtle testers and that will be the APR testing right there and then. :)

Just one more thing the full range of APR fragrances (both full-size Aftershaves and balms from both the original release and the Summer Scents) and Sample sets will be available for people to collect on the day if they order them in advance.

I can't possibly bring along dozens of bottles to sell on the spot, but I am happy to bring along bottles for people who have ordered :)

The Original APR Release

The Summer Scents

I kept quantities of both the original release and the Summer scents for NSW people especially as out meetings are so irregular. I will also have limited bottles of Monsta Myrtle to give away and will also bring a full set of samples for people to check out.

IIRC a well know international will be in town around this time of year, perhaps it's prudent to plan so they're able to attend?

Seems like you guys in Sydney always have troubles getting together - probably due to the vast distances and horrible traffic...

Maybe you want to try smaller, more localised meetings - but could do them more regularly?

And then 1-2 big ones a year - which are advertised long time in advance?

The good people in Melbourne have a similar approach and it seems to work very well...

@MrT @filobiblic :)

This is exactly my thinking @alfredus :)

When I visited SA on the 24th of December I met with @nsavage and @bald as and we had a great chat, a couple of coffees and got a chance to get to know each other. It was informal, understated and thoroughly enjoyable especially due to the company. We got to talk soap, razors, brushes with @nsavage breaking out the ''A'' list gear and what we were enjoying or not enjoying at the time, it really was everything good about a meet up and it should serve as a model for other states imho.

This is an excellent idea @Snooze, I reckon we go for it. Find a nice pub with a room or table we can use, say hello, do some talking, get some food and some drinks and have a nice enjoyable afternoon. If there is 3 of us then its a great afternoon, if we get 10 people then it's a great afternoon. I think we need to start somewhere, get NSW back on track and this will be the first step in establishing informal gatherings that everyone will enjoy.

NSW folks have been wanting a meeting to smell the APR stuff for 2 months now, I plan to push ahead with a casual, laid back meeting at a pub and get to meet all the people I get along with and have met through P&C, bring along my new timeless razor, soaps, brushes and creams and hope others will do the same.

We can strike a precedent by actually doing it, not talking about it online and then allowing those that do group and make plans to be derailed for whatever reason. It really is that easy :)

To be honest I don't particularly care, my intent is a gathering of locals in an informal setting so we can have lunch, get to know each other and have a few drinks. I don't really go in for the youtube fanboy stuff, an overwhelming majority of it is product placement and payola that pays no dividend save for product shilling.

I know a lot of people enjoy ''celebrity'' events, I have little care for them myself and postponing, delaying or accommodating the possibility of an unknown 'well known international' will only derail, yet again, the chance of a Sydney meetup.

My genuine apologies if I seem rude, impolite or blunt - I'm just sick of NSW meetups and meeting everyone being endlessly delayed due to bullshit.

My wife has today off so she is looking at a few places in Balmain/Rozelle area where we could meet up. If you have any suggestions @Snooze then I would love to hear them, it may not necessitate actually formally booking a room, but it may depending on how busy the place we wants to use gets.

I really don't want this just to be an APR thing, I think it would work really well if we all bring our new soaps, creams and or hardware we have acquired so we can look and discuss it as this will really keep the conversation lively and flowing and will give people a chance to check out things they may not have seen :)

Any ideas on a venue anyone - bistros are nice imho ?

Just meet with whoever can be there. Numbers aren't overly important. Two people meeting up is excellent, next time it will probably grow. Set a time and stick to it. Once you form a core group you will find flexibility if needed. But that only happens with a comitted core group. :) You may satisfy some of the shavers some of the time but never all of the shavers all of the time.

Thanks mate, that is good solid advice.
