Rockwell Model T Update

Ok, I might be getting interested now.

But, is it just me or is that a pretty aggressive looking blade gap even on the lowest setting? Is this just showing the mechanism working and the actual gaps will be set later?

They haven't released the gaps at this stage. I would doubt that setting #1 will be aggressive given the company's objective (and rockwell 6S settings). They're trying to convert people to DE shaving from cart/electric etc. so it's not going to be like the merkur futur etc.

Seems like I've been waiting ages for this, I even thought at one stage they might ship earlier than the March target, but alas, it seems they will be on time. How disappointing :p

Yes, they seem t have focussed on product improvement rather than beating a deadline - why not both!

The 6t monthly Kickstarter updates did include design changes. Guessing the 6t is more complex with moving parts. Also, guessing the low selling price may mean low cost offshore manufacturing.

I'm also waiting on the model T, looking forward to comparing it to the Slim Adjustable.
The update looks good but I recently swapped from the 6C campaign to the model T and I was warned by Rockwell at the time that the wait would be longer for the T. Since both campaigns were originally estimated to ship in March my guess is that the model T will be a little late.
I hope I'm wrong but it is a more complex design so more chance of delays.

Indeed @Mark1966 a delay is better than a problem. Can't help being disappointed, I was thinking the all brass construction would mean it would last and last like an old Gillette. Then again I know nothing about engineering and production so I can't really say too much

Yeah, happy to wait for a better product, but was disappointed with the inclusion of zinc alloy (after including some stainless in the internals now).

Yeah, +1 and I think there will be a few others, but, in my case ...

However ...

I was thinking the all brass construction would mean it would last and last like an old Gillette.

I do wonder why we could do it 50 years ago but not now!

Yeah, may have let ourselves forget the reason this method of shaving stopped in the first place.

No money in someone buying just one razor to last a lifetime.

Zalmak ?
Might as well go for a Parker for a fraction of the cost!

Yes - I am surprised they went for the Zalmak ... won't survive a couple of drops on hard bathroom surfaces ...maybe thats the idea ?o_O

Wow - that is quiet a big change...Do they offer money back for people, who want to get out?
