2024 Shaving Acquisitions Thread

Update I checked I retail price I think the old fella may not have told the truth on the his wholesale prices
it goes to show check the price first
I still saved money but not a steel after all

After a self imposed hiatus on soaps (first soap purchase for 2024, I think), I picked up a couple I was curious about, and would regret missing out. AUD to the US dollar is horrendous, atm. Also reamed on shipping, but at least it was ultra quick, like 5 days (shipped on 30/8, arrived today). From Maggards.

Initial thoughts on scent off the tub.

Brewer: Sharp pineapple and passionfruit.

Jack: Limey gin.

Shire 2: violet and green tobacco

Dammusi: tbh, I can't get any blood orange or any kind of orange off the tub. To me, it smells like sophisticated (read expensive) Arko.

Recently found out that Baili introduced their first all stainless razor, the BRB3PS. Picked one up at the recent Aliexpress Sunshine sale. Not sure why they didn't machine out a proper thread post instead of the truncated version on this razor, makes the thread catchment really loose until you tighten it up. Thought on the shave soon.

Another Aliexpress pick-up. I actually ordered this before the Baili, and it finally arrived as part of a combined package. I've read about the 'Strong Leopard' 77-A shavette, that takes the Big 77 (6cm) razor blade, so that you get the straight razor 'experience' that you can't get with a regular shavette, because you've got more blade length to work with. Looks interesting. Going to see how it stacks up against the Artist Club (style) shavette.

The Brewer, very unique soap. Love the House of M ones and the NO as well.
