Favourite style scuttle/bowl/cup

I was using a Shaving Factory mug (knock off of the mug that Edwin Jagger sell) but found it only useful if I stick a puck in and lather from that. Picked up a Fine Lather Bowl via WCS (Maggard sell them also) and love the ease of use. It's similar to those used by others but has a handle. I'm waiting for the PAA travel scuttle to arrive and will post my thoughts in the coming days :nailbiting:
Just to expand on my earlier post:

1) PAA Travel scuttle - Pros: Super light for travelling, indestructable, warms your lather well; Cons: Cost due to postage and in comparison to the other option that PAA sells, lack of weight makes hand lathering somewhat annoying, smaller surface area but lots of friction from the grooves (good and bad). In hind sight I would've been better getting a 'seconds' ceramic version but it with extra's so no real complaints. https://phoenixartisanaccoutrements.com/collections/scuttles

2) Shaving Factory shaving mug - Pros: Lots of versions of this design so shop around and you'll find a bargin, heavy in weight and sturdy design, perfect size for your smaller types of soap pucks: Cons: Your taking a chance buying from China as I received two seperate mugs and both came wrapped in plastic but broken into pieces, shallow design makes lathering with a larger brush a tad difficult, no grooves so you may as well save the cash and use a larger coffee mug / soap bowl as you'll get similar results. Got mine in a budle but they're no longer in stock. https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/barbersuppliesco?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754

3) Fine Lather Bowl - Pros: Fairly light but solidly made, large handle which holds your brush for drying, large surface area with great grooves allowing for quick lathering; Cons: Cost due to postage so I got mine from WCS with a few other products (Maggards sell them also). Overall my favourite to use as it's heavy enough to lather on the sink and awesome in the hand. Not as nice as other traditional bowls but value for money when bundled so you save on postage. https://www.fineaccoutrements.com/Shaving-Lather-Bowl-p/flb.htm

Thanks for that info.Re the mugs,do other more expensive brands that I see online from Aussie sellers have grooves or are they just basically a glorified cup? For example Muhle,Edwin Jagger etc.

Without seeing one in person I believe those mugs are the same as mine and its smooth like your average coofee mug. Not sure if shaving shop sell them so you could check yourself. Definately not worth their asking price and I got mine for $25 AUD with a brush and soap puck. Try one of the plastic versions via Aliexpress as they're cheap and basically the same thing but indestructable. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Man...ug-Bowl-Face-Barber-Cleaning/32831050250.html

Ordered one of the plastic just to give it a go and cheap enough.
Can anyone else tell me if the apothecary styled brand mugs have ribs in the base?

Haha whatever that is. All I'm certain off is it lathers good and thats FINE by me (y)

I spent hours looking at pics of all sorts of bowls, and never saw one with any shots inside those mugs!
Now I search and see the same image within 10 seconds
