Hello, Paste & Cut forums.

We are Shaving Club, a small Australian company located in Sydney and look forward to beginning a great relationship with everyone here. We mainly specialise in razor refills for the big brands but why hear from me when you can check it out for yourself at https://shavingclub.com.au/. Please check us out and feel free to send us any feedback.

See you around,

It is a pity that you don't stock double-edge blades or straight razors. That is what most here use to shave.

Multi-blade carts are now so un-cool.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll try to include some double-edge blades and straight razors into our stock. Can I ask why Multi-Blades are un-cool?

For me multi-blades aren't 'uncool', they are just inferior to a single clean and sharp blade. I used cartridge blades 20 years ago and always had rashes on my neck & ended up with a shave that wouldn't last 12 hours. I also found the commercial canned shave cream to be inferior to shave soaps & wet shaving. The thing that also bothered me was the shear waste. A multi edge blade lasts a few shaves then you need a new one, a straight razor is for life. Do the sums and one is cheaper for my pocket and cheaper for the planet.

After shaving with multi-blades for decades, those men just put up with the skin irritation that they were left with, believing that that was normal for shaving.

Many multi-blade shavers are now rediscovering the benefits and enjoyment that shaving can bring with double-edge (DE) safety razors. They give them a great shave result with less skin irritation, cheaper price and no plastic waste to dispose of.

About a third of those DE razor shavers then move on to straight razor (SR) shaving. They do this for many initial reasons but ultimately they get the colsest, most comfortable shave available, all without any skin irritation.

Coming from multi-blade razors takes time to develop the skills required for DE and SR shaving. Not all are willing to put in the time to achieve the results but those who do rarely go back.

I have introduced about 20 dedicated multi-blade shaving men to traditional wet shaving. I would lend them a DE safety razor, blades, brush and shaving soap for a couple of weeks and give them some instructions.

After those first few weeks all bar none went out and purchased their own traditional wet shaving gear - never to return to multi-blades.

Mass market advertising has a lot to answer for the suffering that multi-blade razors have put men through for decades.
