you can pick ONLY one of each item for the rest of your life;
Razor
Blade
Brush
Soap
Post shave

We all know variety is the spice of life blah blah blah but if you had to narrow it down what are your top shelf, best of the best most favouriteist items to make your minimalist kit what would they be?
I love my straights but with travel I think a DE would be the best option and the artist club I'm totally infatuated with currently but those early morning half awake shaves would end in my demise for sure so the tech wins out for its beautiful uncomplicated shave.

Razor: English fat handle tech
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: 25mm silver tip by whipped dog
Soap: Mitchell's wool fat
Post: Natio Men's facial moisturiser spf 30

Truth be told I'm looking forward to your replies so I can buy items on the lists to try for myself ;)

Happy posting and enjoy the long weekend everyone!

I'm easily satisfied. Nothing fancy, although enjoyable to me and sufficient for my needs.
Razor: Gillette Aristocrat Junior
Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux
Brush: Semogue 610
Soap: Palmolive Original
Post: TSW After Balm
That is a great choice of razor! I hadn't considered the Junior.
I was once given one and I loved it so much and I got it replated but ended up giving it to my father in law and he uses it every day.
I still so badly want for one though, I just haven't been able to get one at the right price

I immediately fell in love with mine. A standard Aristocrat with a Rapira lifts 3 layers of my skin. Yesterday (Fri), I shaved a 3-day beard with my Junior and a new Rapira. Apart from a self-inflicted nick at the jaw-bone, right side rear; a near-perfect 2-pass shave!
Like most of us, it took a while to discover what best suited my facial hair AND keep me a happy. As previously stated, my needs are relatively simple, readily available and economical.

Gee, tough choices but, at present, I would be satisfied for the rest of my life with -

Razor: Darwin standard
Blade: Vintage NOS Aussie Spoliers
Brush: Simpson Jubilee LE #19/150
Soap: Australian Private Reserve les généraux du grand livre (The General's Ledger) shaving soap
Post shave: Australian Private Reserve les généraux du grand livre (The General's Ledger) splash and balm

All have particular special significance

Difficult choice to make but...purely for desert island purposes...

Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
Razor: Gillette Slim
Blade: Gillette Silver stainless
Soap: B&M Lavanille
A/S: B&M Lavanille

But as Selina Gomez so wisely sang ... "I mean I could....but why would I want to?" :ROFLMAO:

Not easy but here we go

Wolfman SB standard gap
Voskhod
Paladin
Mike's Natural Soaps "Coconut"
Alum, Thayer's Medicated Witch Hazel, Myrsol Plastic, Myrsol Emulsion and a Moisturiser

If you were in my shoe mine would be

Brush: - Semogue 2000 25/60mm
Soap: - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Razor: - Colonial General Aluminium Head with the iKon Bulldog Handle
Blade: - Schick Proline P-30
Post: - Thayers Witch Hazel 'Rose Petal' / Bulldog Original Aftershave Balm

Russian 11/16" Straight
Any 24 mm Boar brush
Any of my home brew soap
Low pH soap and a hot towel to finish after the shave.

Please don't ask me to choose which hone and strop. That would be like choosing between family members.

This is easy for me because, apart from soaps, I've got a tried and tested minimalist set-up...

- Progress (or Rockwell 6S)
- Polsilver
- A better synth brush (currently only have a maggard 24mm)
- Mitchell's Woolfat
- Anherb aftershave conditioner
