Scent pairing

Hey all, of late I've been finding myself looking for not only great scent sets (soap & balm or aftershave), but also matching edt's and colognes. I'm aware of http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Shave_Soap_Scent_Inspirations lists on other forums, but it's quite outdated.

A couple of examples would be Jabonman gea soap and balm with JPG Le Male, or Labelle Tobac Vanille with l'occitane Eau des baux.

Would anyone see value in us creating and maintaining a list like this?

I don't know about you guys, but if I'm shaving before using a fragrance then I generally try to use neutral scents for the post-shave routine - it's always in the back of my mind that I might smell like a very nice chemical factory explosion. It's why aftershave splashes don't get much mileage in my house.

For those that do mix and match, do you go for single scents or try to blend?

Match middle and base notes (e.g. Eufros Gea soap and balm with JPG Le Male, or Labelle Tobac Vanille with l'occitane baux).

Trying to do this has stopped me from buying a heap of soaps
