Fireplace crackling in the background, gentle, comforting
A pile of cushions making a nest for two
Cognac glasses, cheese and dried fruits on the small table
The glow from the fire reflecting in her eyes
Dancing, alive
Her smile filling the room with joy
The time slips by unnoticed

Once again Fougère Bourbon Rose delivers on an early morning shave

The Icarus base is a much harder soap than the Bison Tallow, and I think all things being equal I like the Bison a little more.

Pre: my lemon Myrtle pre shave oil
Rockwell R4 w/Polsilver
Yaqi Timberwolf
Fine Fresh Vetiver
Anherb balm

Fine soaps are great! Very creamy lather that whips up very fast!

The scents are great although I think I had a very slight irritation from this one. Nothing major but noticeable.

  1. 2. Preshave: Cyril R Salter - Lavender
  2. Blade:Astra Superior Platinum
  3. Razor: ATT bamboo, with the copper windsor plate CR1
  4. Soap: Edwin Jagger Pomegranate and Limes
  5. Brush: Floris, pure badger
  6. Postshave: RazoRock DonMarco
  7. Earworm: The gentle annoying humm of the broken fan motor of our gas heating
quick shave this morning so no time for a straight razor shave. I thought I had had gone off this base plate, but I got great results this morning, so a happy chappy. Not so happy about having to fork out for a brand new motor for our heating. It seems like everything is breaking at once at the moment.

Semogue, Mitchells Wool Fat, Bengall, Witch Hazel, VCS
Easy two passes for a satisfying shave.Used a little more water with the MWF than I usually do and this helped with the blade gliding a bit easier and the Bengall was working very well.No blood and that is always good after using a straight.

WOW - that's almost a hippie brush colour for you :D :D :D

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lotus Select Badger
Soap: Declaration Grooming Colonia Balsamica
Razor: Rockwell 6C (4)
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel / Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: Acqua Di Parma Colonia

First shave with the Rockwell 6C, loaned by the ever-generous @Greenpike. I took his advice that it was on the mild side for an adjustable, and set my first shave using the 4 plate.
Quite a bit of blade feel, but a very smooth shave with no irritation whatsoever. I just went with the basic three passes, as it was my first shave with this razor, and I was at a mid-aggressive setting. A DFS and good rangefinder for future shaves. The Declaration soap again displayed top tier performance - very slick and cushioning, with excellent razor glide. The scent, both off the puck and when lathering, is to my snozzer very close to the opening of ADP Colonia, which I think is a considerable achievement.
