Does anyone use a shaving bowl? Any recommendations? Thinking about giving one of them a go.
I'd suggest having a look at this thread - quite a few good recommendations there. I go through spells of face/head lathering and bowl lathering, mostly depending on whether or not I'm in a hurry. Generally speaking, I prefer the bowl.

There's a picture of my favourite bowl made by a local ceramicist here.

Fatboy, Paladin brush, and complete Fenchurch combo? That’s a superb setup!

... let down by an ordinary pic!

There is only ONE shaving bowl that anybody here needs. Let me look at one from a couple of years ago ...

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Brush: Semogue 1305 pure bristle
Soap: George Trumper 'Spanish Leather'
Razor: Bengall ¾ straight (Lupo 92 for tidy up)
Blade: Minerva (2)
Post-shave: Alum block, Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve, Armaf ‘Club de Nuit’
A generous loan of a Titan straight for a week set me back on the path, acutely aware that my technique had declined some since my last straight shave.
Pulled out the trusty Bengall, 100 quick laps on the leather and away I went. It all came together nicely; practice makes perfect (or near enough).

@Holiday the GFT seems very good, it has a fair amount of residual glide that helps if buffing. But I'm only about
50 shaves into straight razors and most soaps I've tried so far seem adequate. Very nice fragrance too...
Gents - whilst I don’t use straights, I’m a firm fan of GFT creams. And such great scents to boot.

Back to basics
Wonderful smooth shave and could have stopped at a single pass but also noticed consistent regrowth by midday

I find GFT creams are consistently slick and impossible to produce a bad lather although I imagine overloading the brush would require a lot of hydration
