Paste & Cut Outage Notice
Outage Window: 1200hrs AEDT Saturday 20th October 2012 to 1800hrs AEDT Sunday 21st October 2012.
Outage Length: 2 hours, plus possible smaller outage of around 30 mins.
Reason: Complete site backup for testing new hosting platform.
Affected: Entire site. Forum maintenance message will be displayed.
I have finally configured and loaded up our new hosting VPS and am reasonably happy with it. The final part of testing will be to configure a test site and load up Paste & Cut onto it as a dry run for the move. As a result, I will need to take a complete site backup over the weekend. This will involve forum downtime in order to keep the database export consistent, as well as download the HTML and scripts.
There may also be some DNS issues as I move domain Name Servers around. This should be no greater than 30 minutes - the TTL on affected domains will be reduced to minimum values to facilitate this.
