Slippery Handle

My lacquered timber handled shaving brushes tend to be a little slippery to handle when my fingers were damp and there was a bit of lather present. I use to apply some alum to my fingertips to gain some traction but that was become a PITA.

I then thought about leather footballs that were easier to control after being treated with dubbin. I decided to apply some dubbin to one of my lacquered timber handled brushes and low and behold, it worked!

Not quite as good as using alum but dubbin works well enough for me. So far that one application of dubbin has lasted about 30 shaves for me and still going strong.
